It’s extremely evident by those quotes that he wants to play at Alabama and will only come to LSU for the sole reason of us offering his brother. Do we really want someone like that on this team, plus someone that has bust written all over him? “I’ll lay out the ultimatum and see what school falls in line and that’s where Im going.” Yea, that guy has leader and winner written all over him.

Chris Davenport was a 5* out of high school at DT, switched to offensive tackle but mostly played special teams, don't think he ever started. He graduated and played a year at Tulane, do not know what he did there. I wonder if Sopsher could be similar to him

Davenport played abysmal competition in high school, even worse than Sopsher.

He wasn't as quick or as strong as Ish either.

I think Ish is pretty overrated, but he's got much more natural talent/athletic ability than Davenport.

Yep, Davenport played in 1A, if I recall...Sopsher plays in 2A...going to be interesting to see if he and Rodney sign the LSU LOI and see if either pans out!

I’ll say it again he’ll be another Anthony ‘freak’ Johnson. He’s basic and not worth 2 scholarships plan and freaking simple. I really don’t see what’s hype about. He has a great play sporadically. HE’S NOT ELITE! I know you want another 5 star player but damn he’s willing to sacrifice 2 for a basic player is just foolish. There has to be better prospects out there worth the time and energy.

I agree...

Man, there are some people stressing over all this BS...

People need to relax and let this play out...we have 19 of 25 LOIs guaranteed and Ika at NT is one of them and Evans at DE/DT to boot.

Sopsher will be a big bonus or not that big of a loss...meaning with 2020's class, it won't make or break LSU's depth like Surtain did in 2018. That's not to say there won't be a melt on the board come NSD, it just won't be as bad as last year.

Orgeron is still going to feel the heat if we don't land Sopsher!!! And, I will be one of the ones BBQing his arse for not locking down the State of LA on 5 stars!!!

This is a lot more important to Orgeron's recruiting reputation than it is to depth on the DLine.

I wish LSU hadn't offered his brother. Let him go to Bama if he wants. Let Saban spend a scholorship on his brother. It's is revealing of his character that this teenager is setting forth conditions on his recruitment. Do we really want someone who is coming here just because we are the only school acceding to his demands? Is he really going to be a team player? Will there be further conditions once he gets here? I wish Mr. Sopsher and his brother all the luck in the world........at some other school.

Yea I just have a feeling that this dude will bust. He'll sit around for 3 years and eat so his brother can get a free education. If I'm LSU I don't offer his brother unless he commits now.

I'd cut ties and start looking around to either next years JUCO, Transfers and the like. Instead of wasting time with this dude I'd be looking to the future. I thought he would turn it up when it came time but he's just lazy.

I think there is a chance he busts as well, but for the sake of keeping future kids instate, you have to take him and hope he pans out. Maybe Coach O can get the best out of him?

The main guys supporting this nonsense are the ones who are going to be on this board melting. “He sucks we should’ve let Bama have him” crowd. Not only will he be a bust but now you’re taking in more dead weight with his brother. Smh our fan base I tell you.

I realize this is the biggest argument for it, but I just really like the potential class we could finish with using those spots elsewhere. IDK, I feel like Saban still has a hand up in this by forcing LSU to use up a scholarship that could go to another 4 star type of player for 3-4 years at LSU this year.. and for a guy that I continue to see questioned regarding effort. I am trying my best not to judge him, but I'm honestly concerned how often people say he is raw, or he is hot and cold.

Ultimately winning on the field is still the most important factor in recruiting IMO. I recognize everyone wants to stop the bleeding of 5 star players going to Alabama though, especially on the line. I just wish he was more like a Cam Robinson 5 star prospect.

There are so many talented players left on our board. It would be wild if Hampton backed out late and then the Sopsher brothers ended up as busts. That's 3 spots we could lose. FWIW, I want Hampton as bad as anyone, all of this just seems dicey.

I wish Ish would at least commit by now.. if he means what he is saying about his brother is a must.. Obviously Alabama is above that. A month will be here soon enough though.
