Some of you need to step back and get a grip about Jordan Burch...

I've read most every post regarding Burch. Many of the posters are arguing about this school can do this or that school can do so much more than the other. But at the end of the day it comes down to the recruit...and he is the one who ultimately makes the choice.
With regard to Burch, that choice may be the most difficult decision he has ever made in his young life. He has grown up in the shadows of the University of S. Carolina and that may matter to him more than many realize. He sees the magic that LSU has to offer, and that's alot. It's tough!
When all is said and done he will go to the school that has won his heart, regardless of past failures or future results.
I was raised 3 miles south of Tiger Stadium. I walked up and down those steps selling cokes. Played football in high school and dreamed about the future. If I would have been offered a scholly back 50+ years ago by every university in the country there would never have been a doubt in my mind. That would be LSU!
Just saying....give the kid the benefit of the doubt. It his future, not yours. He will make the decision that he, and only he, feels comfortable with. Let's just hope it's the good guys. If not, just wish him well.

It’s a discussion board, guy. People come here to state opinions. But thank you for the lecture anyways.

Very well stated. Too many people on this board believe recruits should commit on the time table they set and react negatively to everything that does not indicate this is happening. As you noted this is the most important decision of their young lives. Quit directing negative comments to them, quit accusing them of creating drama when they vacillate and allow the process to take its course. Why would a recruit want to choose a school where its fans criticize him and his family.

I just stepped back.
I don’t see any difference

This happens every time it appears LSU might lose a highly rated recruit. Posters grow philosophical, they speak in glowing terms of his limitless future if he follows his heart to whatever the other school it might be.
Stop. South Carolina is going to have a losing record next year and Muschamp will be fired. If that's what he wants, that's his choice. But stop with the harmonious musings about everything else. It's naive at best.
He comes to LSU if he wants to win championships. He goes to South Carolina if being home and pleasing the local folk is most important to him.

Remember Kevin Faulk was in the same situation. His career didn’t turn out too shabby.

I agree
It's not easy pulling kids from the home state team even if that program is possibly looking at a new coach at the end of the season.
There are players from LA that would choose LSU no matter if they were 12-0 or 0-12.

That post has far more merit than many of the other Burch threads.

quote:ok but 50+ years ago LSU was anywhere from a Top 10 team to National Champions and a top tier team in college football, South Carolina isnt in that discussion. Nobody blames Ed Reed and Reggie Wayne for going to Miami.
