You mean his uncle?

We’ll see if he has that same missile intensity when he’s only 4 yards behind LOS and having to fight through D1 linemen instead of 2A Louisiana HS lineman.

It will be a challenge

I expect Weeks to be bigger and polished this season.

Curtis will have little to no change in his game. Would like to see his uncle move him closer to the LOS.

Weeks can fly and is super athletic. If he was 10 lbs heavier, he would be a top 10 LB.

Tackett is just more college ready with his size.

Weeks plays all over the field and multiple positions. To me he seems like more of a Football Player than just an LB. I like that personally. I feel that gives him a better overall understanding when reading and reacting. He also plays better competition at his school.

I'm going to say Weeks.

Here's why I say that...
They both excel in certain areas, so that makes it close. But where Weeks excels in comparison to Curtis, namely agility/speed/fluidity, fits today's game better.

If asked this question 20 years ago I'd say Curtis because a LOS thumper in the middle was a centerpiece. But against todays offenses you have to layer coverage, while still getting pressure, with S's and LB's handing off duties to each other depending on scheme/looks. Weeks can handle that better.

I pretty much always look at it from a blocking point of view, so I ask myself if I'm an OG who is harder to first get my hands on and then secondly block once I do; the answer is Weeks.

Weeks does play against better competition too, even if slight to moderate, so he is easier to project.

Both are good prospects-development and defense scheme will be considerations. Time will tell - personally I think both will be good players in their programs.

This has become a weird-arse talking point. I immediately assume you have no clue what you are talking about if you say this

I’m curious as to why. Looking at his Hudl, it appears he is mostly playing a a downhill safety position. It’s like giving a skill player the ball in space on offense; he isn’t in the front seven dealing with fighting off blocks and filling gaps at the LOS.

He’s obviously very athletic and a physical defender but I don’t see why it isn’t fair to question how quickly he will acclimate to playing a true LB position in college.

It would be interesting to see him in the “robber safety” role of the Iowa State (and maybe SDSU?) 3-3-5 defense. Looks like very similar responsibilities that he has in his highlight film.

Watch the Many v Union game where Trey Holly ran all over Many. I didn’t see much to impress me by Tackett Curtis.

It’s fine to make that observation, but to turn it into a negative is just ignorant.

If that’s how he’s best used on his team, so be it. It obviously works. The game in 2022 is played in space.

Oh I absolutely agree; some on here seem to take it too far. He obviously has a nose for the football and appears to be a good tackler.

Not sure who is better, but I know it will be cool if both Weeks brothers end up playing at the same time - and if both are as good as advertised.

You expect honesty on an LSU board with people who hate Curtis? Most of my posts on this site are directed at all the hypocrites who can’t be honest specifically about things like the question you asked.

The truth is if Curtis committed to LSU, people on here would say Curtis is better and he would be hyped as a future superstar LB. No one really thinks that of Weeks.

Actually his uncle is his coach and hes also the starting QB for the team so he has to have that same intensity at the line of scrimmage. Ask our new 6'3" 225Lb baseball recruit Ethan Frey how tacks intensity is.

Tackett doesn't have the chest.

LB’s are all about how they develop. For these two, we’ll see. I think they’re both going to be good, but Tackett will get a lot of hype and will play in a weaker conference.
