If Mett is as good as folks think he will be, and I think he'll be good, I sure hope he sticks around for two years.

However, if Mett leaves, 2013 will have:
Two Year Scholly QBs: TWO (Randall, Rivers)
One Year Scholly QBs: ONE (Liggins)
Zero Year Schooly QBs: ONE (probable)

In 2008, LSU had:
Two Year Scholly QBs: ZERO
One Year Scholly QBs: ONE (Lee)
Zero Year Schooly QBs: TWO (Hatch, Jefferson)

In other words, 2013 would be almost exactly like 2008 if LSU didn't have Randall and Rivers.

That's a HUGE difference.

Just need to make sure Gunner gets some touches (other than just kneeling down) next year and we will be ok in 2013...

All the QBs not named Mett have major question marks imo.

I'm confident, though, that Krags will be able to polish all three up to a level far surpassing that of what LSU has been dealing with over the last four years.

Otherwise we're looking at being right back in the mess we've been dealing with for the past few years.

Wrong on so many levels - the only way we would be anything like "back in the mess we've been dealing with" would be if Mett gets hurt pre-season or very early. Under that scenario, we would have to throw between 1 and 3 completely untested QBs the wolves.

However, if Mett plays "1 and done", that's supremely positive because it means he got enough attention based on his play in 2012 to get drafted high enough to justify leaving early. Then for 2013 - 1 year early for both, not 2 years early as with JL and JJ - one or both of our sophomores (not freshmen) will have to take the load.

Not exactly the same...

Mett will be here 2 years. No way he goes pro after 1 year starting, especially in our run-first system. He needs the full 2 years to position himself.

Anyone know the top QBs projected to enter next years draft?

1) Matt Barkley - USC
2) Landry Jones - OU
3) Tyler Wilson - Ark

Other possibles are Geno Smith - WVU, Aaron Murray - UGA, EJ Manuel - FSU(if they have a big year), Mett - LSU(if we have a big year)

How is Rivers less of a project than Randall?

Way:
(1) World class air show
(2) SEC Championship
(3) BCS Championship
(4) Heisman Trophy
(5) Davey O'Brien
(6) $36 Million contract

Likely? Probably not... But "no way"? I disagree!

Totally Disagree!
because, they aren't giving out $36M to rookies anymore, it is more likely in the high 20s.

That's what Cam's contract is worth over the first 5 years.
