I guess Kenny Bell didn't have an offer going into NSD as a LSU commitment. Regardless, you would have sworn Alabama couldn't get a commitment to begin with, before he Sylve did indeed do so. He was a lock for LSU just this morning, right?

It's debatable whether Bell had a conventional scholarship offer. Some claim he would have been a greyshirt recruit, which is apparently what led him to sign with Bama according to those same people.

I personally don't give a frick. Congrats on landing a May committment out of Sylve. I hope he is an All-American and first round draft pick at Bama. I can see where the LSU program is headed. I think an objective high school football player can see the same disorganization I see. This is simply a microcosm of much larger organizational issues within our football program.

Look, I don't have a problem with LSU, or its fans. I love this board, but why are people surprised some Alabama fans would crow about this? Every Louisiana recruit Alabama has landed, LSU fans had something negative to say, or how they never offered, etc.

For the most part it's been true, too. Don't Bama fans do the same thing to Auburn?

So Luther Davis and Darrington Sentimore never had offers?

Luther Davis lied to our staff and had his offer pulled

Sentimore didn't have one till late due to grades. then his family and Coaching staff talked him into sticking to his promise

I still call bs on the fact Lacy and Sentimore could make legit As in summer school.

I do understand it happens everywhere though.

Don't listen to the P&G koolaide slurpers. Yal have done better in LA than must of us ever thought. It's not that the loss of this player in general is the biggest concern because LSU will always have players; it's the growing presence Bama is starting to have in LA while LSU apparently lost the road map to Alabama.

LSU has LA and Texas. LSU wanted the guy, but I don't think they have lost must get recruits to invaders. Mcknight is about it really.

Because he was a high school QB, that's switching to DB in college?

Look. Just consider the source in each case. The simple fact is that we are going to lose some recruiting battles across state lines. I quit reading the Sylve thread b/c most people think we will turn him, and "they aren't worried". Well, you should be "worried" when a kid who was thought to be a lock commits to your out of state rival. The reason why is not all that important. My guess is:

1) Sylve is open to living in a new place, which I can understand after what he has been through.
2) Saban is a phenomenal recruiter and coach, which we know and had the benefit of enjoying.
3) I wouldn't bet on him flipping. He saw Reed's recruitment last year. I don't think he wanted to drag it out that way and deal with the constant shite.

Summary - I would love to have the kid, but if his heart is elsewhere in the SEC West (particularly), I can't wait for him to get introduced to Loston, Reid, Vinson, Simon, Mathieu,....etc. Bring it.

Because he's someone who isn't as good as Sylve and someone we didn't take from Bama.
