Cams coach told him to stop playing games and he did.
I don’t believe for one minute if he hadn’t told him that Saban would have played the same game he plays every year.

I do give O credit. He did a good job this year, imo.

I worry that the fence to Texas may also be coming up and keeping us out of those fertile pasturelands.....with the resurgence of the Horns and their little brother.....Jumbo and Jimbo.

We only took one player from TX in this 19 class, Brooks (if you exclude the kicker). That has to be a low in the recent years on the number of TX recruits we take every year. We gotta keep that pipeline open for 20.

This is just the sour grapes talking. Bama lost a ton on the DL and any one of those guys could start next year or the year after, just like he'd have done at LSU.

What was LSU supposed to different with Sopsher? They recruited him as hard as possible and he chose the other school.

Even Alabama loses some of their state's top recruits. But, WINNING is the formula that reduces those flight risks. It does not eliminate them, bc kids want to play and even a NC QB transfers when he is sitting.

We won't exclude a top 5 kicker as you have seen last year how valuable a good kicker is. So we snatched the best player in Texas and the best kicker as well. I'll take it any year

That is true. It was a great recruiting class even if we let ourselves get played by another Amite player.

Get played? He went to Bama. So what. We still got Lee. This was an amazing class. Flipped Emery from GA, which everyone seems to forget, and got the best DB class in the country by far.

The issue for many of us is not so much the going to Bama as it is the time and effort expended on this guy vs other potential D linemen. It's not the end of the world, it just feels like a a sort of sour deja vous, particularly with the Amite connection.

Anyway, I'm not sure if that guy Desmond Little may not end up surprising us all, anyway. 6-5 209. Reminds me of Mingo, size wise (6-5 20). Though he is not nearly as highly rated as Mingo was and those are tall shoes to fill.

It is a great recruiting class, regardless of a miss or two, was my point. With some potential sleepers, I might add.

I don't think they did. I'd take Evans over Ish any day of the week. Evans has a high motor, Ish doesn't, Evans has good technique, Ish has no technique. Both have good size, Ish has too much size. There's as many underrated players in this recruiting class as I've ever seen at LSU in one class. And Ish is probably the most overrated recruit in the entire 2019 class.

LSU signed the top 2 Louisiana recruits this year
8 of the top 10

This is a great year for LSU and Louisiana

Last year we were raided. This year is much closer to the mean.

Louisiana was raided the last 2 years. LSU signed 5 of top 10 in 2018 and 3 of top 10 in 2017.

2016 (9 of 10) and 2019 (8 of 10) are the outliers. From 2009 to 2015 LSU never signed more than 7 of the top 10 players in the State. The mean for the past 10 years is 62% or 6.2 of top 10. So 5 of 10 is actually closer to the mean than is 8 of 10.
