Just read the comments..
Funny how people are saying Darrell is a better back and throwing Palelei under the bus without having all the details.

Palelei is going to be a hoss wherever he goes

Williams is probably going to be a LB for LSU anyway.

I dont know Boos situation but I wouldnt be threatened by the depth chart at all..Les is gonna play 3 backs regardless so youll get enough touches..If I was him I'd look at how Magee was utilized this season and he was 3rd or 4th on the depth chart before the season..

The problem is that Brossette and Guice will be coming in so his shelf life as better than 4-5th string may not be very long.

quote:Agreed. If any coach/team has proved that you can be listed 2nd or 3rd on depth chart and still get carries and drafted it's LSU. Magee wasn't just buried on depth chart, he was a WR last year. And that dude has done nothing but produced all year this year. Says something about development at LSU.

and before Bama comments... that's recent. Before Lacy was injured and Yeldon had to come in he rode his backs into the ground (and record books)
But between the offensive styles and family in OK [is ok] this is a case of "better fit" I think. Can't fault Sione for this decision.

His film doesn't look like a pure RB...looks like a prototypical athlete that finds a home at another position at the next level.

the staff picked sione over williams for a reason. im happy to have williams. if this dalvin cook talk has any legs, that would be huuuuge!

Not even going to lie to you. Darrell didn't register to me til I saw some of his 2013 season tape. Very tough runner and faster than Kenny Hilliard. Having Fournette hit you, Magee hit you, then Williams clean up the remains. Gonna be fun the next few years.
70 plays per game
Jennings 25 pass = 208-325, 3087 yards 26 TDs
7 runs = 91 atts, 418 yards 7 TDs
Fournette 18 run = 234 att, 1638 yards 19 TDs
Magee 12 run = 156 att, 1029 yards 12 TDs
Williams 8 run = 104 atts, 582 yards 7 TDs
more or less this is what m P&G glasses see.

that's 3500 yards rushing... that would absolutely shatter every record set during the Miles era rushing.
with 3 first-year starters/players?

I've seen it happen before.
Magee can definitely go over 1000 and I'm looking at Fournette as the next AP, he would have to get the touches though. Look what UGA did with two true fresh last year. Look what Auburn did this year. Mason at 1600, Marshall at 1000, Grant at 650, Artis Payne at 600.
If only 3 backs are getting the carries and Jennings being a legit runner, I could see this happening if our offense is running at it's peak. If not, 3000 rush yards, 2500 pass yards which should equal our total yards after the bowl game.

quote:Sorry about the name mistake. I was in texas When all that was going on and read an interview that Adam gave to a Houston paper. In it he stated that LSU kept his offer on the table after he blew out his knee. He said he felt as if they had cooled toward him so he switched his commitment to Nebraska. Now you are saying that he didn't really have an offer. I find that interesting. I guess it doesn't matter though bring on Dalvin Cook.
Adam Taylor? He was never a commit, he implied that he was going to be at LSU, but was never an official commit, never had a scholarship offer. He committed to Nebraska a few games into his senior season when he was healthy I think.

would have loved to have him but the ACL injury kind of put a damper on things IMO. Never know how a back is going to respond. Went from being a sure thing great back to being a bit more of a risky offer. Look at Alfred Blue, never really returned to form.
