Sherman Wilson tweets about the portal talk

I think that’s coming in the spring.

I know part of Wilson’s job is to be a social media hype man but it’s highly unlikely either of those guys contributes much as true freshmen.

That will help in two years. Is the plan to be bad on defense for the next couple years? Cb and D line are not good at all

So if you sign others for this year, you risk losing these studs to the portal and NO ONE inside LSU thinks this team is competing for a championship next year. They are building for the following years. Anyone who can’t see this is either blind or stupid. I’m not saying they aren’t going to work on or have the goal of a championship next year, but they know it’s not likely given we will have a new QB and all new defensive staff where there was definitely some improvement needed not only in personnel but in overall coaching of the existing personnel.

One of my favorite players in this class, definitely going to be a solid CB. He needs a year of physical development to be an every down CB for us.

If you want most of this talk to go away, make our men's basketball team better.

We did have true freshmen playing at both corners a lot this year so!!

But to his point, anyone LSU adds means someone else needs to go.

So, someone needs to step up and hold that position down as the freshmen class learns and develops. I feel like they can be adequate with the current group and hope for one or two of the freshmen to flash.

JK Johnson, Zy Alexander, Jyaire Brown, Sage Ryan, Javien Toviano, Ashton Stamps, and Jeremiah Hughes.

Defensive Tackle is way more of an issue than a corner right now. I also thought LSU's safety play was worse than its corner play in 2023.
