How is that negative? It’s a pivotal part of recruiting and getting early “commitments”.

i'm not negative. it's just how recruiting is now. commitments aren't important anymore.

He's a huge get and very important for this class.

but LSU/Bama battles always involve shady dealing from Bama's side. would any of you truly be shocked if he ended up signing with Alabama at the last minute?

Shea a little late to the party as usual.

Shea has to be super careful with his CBs because he gets crucified when he's wrong on a big prospect. He's been on the confident side with Roy but likely wanted to make his CB when he knows for sure.

Being the #3 class right now is huge. Other recruits see guys they want to play with and see a team moving in the right direction.
To say commitments aren’t important anymore is just stupid

just for those of you not familiar with Shea and how he does his CBs, this is how he ALWAYS does them....

i'd like to see him be a little bolder with them too, but i can understand his rationale, and i give him credit for not being like a lot of recruiting guys and just throwing shite against the wall to see what sticks...

Shea has ptsd on crystal balls after the 2 for 5 deal at the under armour game back in 2014 lol.

If Roy commits here again...key word again...then we hang on to him barring a catastrophic failure of a season.

Don’t listen to the bama rhetoric. They will of course press him until signing day. They press literally everyone we have that they want.

To count they think they will be flipping;
Boutte
Burton
Ricks
Roy if he commits here

(I doubt they flip any of them)

They will somehow sign a class of around 30 and no one can question it. Most of their info by their insiders is meant to troll LSU boards.

I suggest that you just check back on signing day then. It's really unnecessary for all the "hold on to him, let's see if he sticks," etc. posts everytime we get a commit. We know.

It would be nice if the usual suspects didn’t make it so easy for them.

Great news !

Of course he has to sign .this is a recruiting board

I don't see a kid committing twice just to back off - if he is , I'd say that's questionable character and those kids "usually" don't pan out . If you following recruiting through the years
