Tony Brown is not the high character guy that all reports say Surtain is.
Brown is a punk.
This!

It is an average class relative to what LSU has been pulling in
From a star gazer standpoint, I agree. But LSU has had too many classes with star power at the skill positions and not enough attention given to the lines. I'm thrilled with this class! If you can open running lanes and protect the QB while also plugging up their line and pressuring their QB on D, your skill players suddenly look a whole lot better.

This will be a massive statement for LSU football be it good or bad!

Question: Does Surtain already have a Charger?

Before Brown signed with Bama none of the character stuff had appeared yet. All we were told was that he was a family kid and a good kid. Funny how memories work when people feel shunned. Only real rumor around was the talk of them wanting medical stuff taken care. No one believed it until he chose Bama.
Bamas confidence is scary. I never fall for too much of the rumor mill this time of year, after all these sites are trying to maximize traffic, but ive learned that when Bama is confident you have to at least give it a little respect. Add the fact that our insiders really aren't that in the know and it can be concerning.
Of course I'd be disappointed if we lose him but all this talk of him being an immediate star is just crazy. I remember a time when Kevin Toliver was that guy. How'd that work out? None of these kids are guaranteed to be anything beyond hype.

Pandering to the home fans = $$$
It’s strictly business.

I feel like I'm the only one that thinks Tolliver was a good player for us. Just because he didn't get 10 interceptions doesn't mean he wasn't good. He's had multiple games where he's locked up his assignment.

Surtain is a more polished Toliver with ball skills. And I thought Toliver was damn solid for us.

I like where Bama offers another CB immediately after Surtain leaves on Sunday. Then proceeds to say it is no big deal, that they are still in the lead for Surtain.
You must be new to this. They don’t beg kids, they tell them they want them, not NEED them.

Then the whole nation should be "indicted" because of the five star battles that Bama wins more than anyone. Don't pin that on LSU coaches only. It's every coach in the nation that loses recruiting battles to Saban.

He's been all-LSU for years. Corey Raymond is basically his mentor.

we lose Surtain, that's a huge indictment on our staff.
At Alabam, he has Nick Saban, 5 championships lately, and a great team with a freshman qb that could probably start for about 5 pro teams..
Not a bad gig if you can get it

That whole article is a giant contradiction of itself....says Bama is the team to beat for both, while also saying it's widely believed that Surtain and cambell will go to different schools. It also isn't the writer saying he thinks Surtain is going to Bama. He says that a source close to the sitch claims that Bama is now leading and making it's case....the writer then tells you about the late offer given to this other 4 star corner and how it isnt Bama panicking and has nothing to do with the fact they aren't going to get either Surtain or cambell. Which is exactly what it is. If Bama was the slightest bit trusting that either kid was actaully a lock and gonna go there, then this offer never goes out at all. That whole article is one big fake news pile of misinformation. And totally typical of Bama because they are sweating now and even the beat writers have to go about making excuses and backtracking. Damn funny. Let em all get AIDS and die.

Piss off, d-bag.
We signed 7 - that's one more than 6 - 4-star athletes for both lines.
We signed 4 3-stars.
Oh, and piss off.

And damnit, we need to add some elite talent to this average class. This is a critical commit.
Don’t know why you got downvoted. Adding Surtain is critical for this class. It sets a precedent for our recruiting of the elite talent going forward. If we can’t finish with Surtain after being on him for so long and the connections to Raymond, that does not bode well for closing on other elite recruits going forward.
