Any word on what high school kids wade may be looking to steal with this new scholly spot. He and Kirr were counted on for some minutes next season. I know another late signee like waters is a tough task to duplicate. Hope a warm body with a defensive presence is still out there somewhere

There hasn't really been much mention in the direction of additional HS signees for this class. The focus so far has been on the three levels of transfer: JUCO that can play immediately, Grad Transfer that can play immediately, and transfer that has to sit.
They were already looking at transfer and sit wings and JUCO defenders. This may open up a grad transfer door.
This information may not be up to date though, others on this board know wayyyyy more than me about basketball recruiting.

Sampson leaving is obviously why all these grad transfer guards have been popping up as looking at LSU. Seemed weird, because we are deep at guard. Makes sense now.

They knew he was thinking about it pre-season, but definitely did not recruit as of he definitely was leaving. Wade just mentioned last week this offseason he wanted to specifically work with Sampson finding him a role and hoping he take that next big step because he felt he failed in finding him a role when he came back from injury this year. Wade didn't want him to leave...
I'm sure they thought he would be back after the injury and disappointment afterwards, certainly not go pro after what was an extremely disappointing season for a talented player.

It’s been rumored since the beginning of the season.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Jontray Harris (transfer), Emmitt Matthews, Don Coleman (transfer), are some names.

Let's just say Wade rode Sampson's arse the hardest and made it known to the media.

On a side note, how crazy is it now that Sampson left early of ALL the players Johnny left for Wade, here's the results:
Patterson - Left team before season
ER III - Left team before season
Hayward - Left team before season
Jenkins - Left team before season
Sampson - Declared pro after Wade's 1st year forgoing senior season...not getting drafted
Reath - Graduated after this season
Epps - Graduated after this season
Alexander - Booted off team mid-season this season
Rachal - Still on team
Mays - Still on team
Sims - Still on team
11 scholarship players, 3 left on team for Wade's 2nd season

When you rebuild a clunker you start from scratch.

I don’t think that he ever gets an offer, unless the staff strikes out on 3-4 other guys, but a name to keep an eye on is Dexter Dennis. Originally from Baton Rouge, he spent his HS years at Southern Lab and Baker his senior year. He has spent a post grad year this year at Believe Prep, and has gotten a lot better. He was always an athletic marvel, but he has tightened up his handle and improved to be able to play on the wing at the next level. The staff is at least taking a look at him, especially after picking up offers to Witchita St. and Georgia Tech last week.

Matthews and Dennis would both be solid adds, then also a transfer on top of that.

The article is a little old but I know billy said they are at least talking to him right now

Sampson must be scared off by the hard work that Wade expects. SAD!

Replacement? Better referred to as an upgrade.
