Rivals

Sam has the following going LSU:

This article is not including CA so no call on Foreman.

(EDIT: Separate articles cover Foreman and Leigh.)

Surtain was a given too.

I am not one of those guys that says he doesn't count guy until he signs but I definitely don't count a guy until he actually says publicly that he is going to LSU. If they won't commit, its cuz they aren't completely sold yet.

Leigh and Surtain are literally nothing alike. Surtain and Smith is a more apt comparison

Just FYI, Spiegs forecasted Foreman to Georgia yesterday.

The article was just detailing the top uncommitted prospects in the south-central region.

I really think the 22 class has potential to be better than 21 due to all this commotion, no official visits

I get what you are saying, but the program was in a FAR different spot when he "spurned" LSU for Alabama.

Alabama had just won the national championship, while LSU was coming off a good, but not great 2017 season. Everyone was still very skeptical of Orgeron and LSU had just lost to Alabama for the sixth straight time. Rival coaches could say it was just a matter of time before O was fired. All LSU really had to sell was a good history of DB's along with hope and change.

Three years later NONE of that applies. O's "hot seat" is gone. LSU is coming off a season where they steamrolled the competition at a level perhaps not seen before in modern history. The losing streak to Bama is over. O doesn't have to sell "hope" anymore. He can simply open up the 2019 trophy case

You are right, if they won't come out and say it there's a reason.

However, there is reason you can't quite compare the two... at this time.

Surtain took his visits and still wouldn't declare. Leigh hasn't had his "full cycle" of recruiting just yet. Now, when the 1st signing period approaches and he's not committing publicly... then the comparison of situations/indicators/warnings are apt.

We're not there yet with Leigh.

And my personal opinion is that Leigh will commit publicly sooner rather than later. Have no idea if he'll sign in the early period so not making any comment on that.

- If he sees a continuity between the offense last year and this year- he'll commit.
- I certainly understand if he's waiting to find out if OVs are going to happen so he can take them as an uncommitted prospect. That's how you get the most out of them.
- If the NCAA were to come out and say with finality no OVs (which they won't), he'd likely commit.

And he just may commit on his next unofficial unofficial visit with Mom and GF in tow here soon and make both of us look stupid. I wouldn't be too surprised.

Didn't know Kevin Faulk was Sage Ryan's cousin (if I read that correctly)

An o-line class of Dellinger, Leigh, and Byrd would be damn strong.
