This is their Industry rankings. The cutoff for 4 stars is 400 on On3
Jhase Thomas now coming in at #330...was ranked in the 500's I think... LINK
He must have gotten the bump from On3 b/c he's now #270 on their site.
Per On3 Industry Rankings, we now have...
3 5stars
15 4stars
4 3stars

We can no longer make jokes about the “bama bump”. Literally every recruit we have that was unknown immediately got a huge bump on on3 after we got em. Ain’t mad. ??

Aiden Anding got a nice bump as well. He's a couple of spots away from being a 4star now.

Is Anding switching to LSU?

The “Bengal Bump”.
I like it. I also thought of the Bayou Bump but people might think that refers to some little Cajun girl being pregnant. Or maybe the Bayou Bengal Bump, move over Better Business Bureau there's a new BBB in town.

The bayou bump sounds better

Thomas absolutely deserved a bump. He’s a Top 250 prospect.

Lots better than the gump bump

I think this is just a product of the earlier calendar for recruiting. You have most guys jumping on board by and large before their senior seasons even kick off. Lots of guys get bumps around this time of year now that camps are all wrapped up which is why it's foolish for people to melt about a kid's ranking before they even get to their senior year.

16 on300 guys too. That’s great work by the staff, especially considering the guys that aren’t are high upside.

When will that be updated on 247?

That's exactly where he's been ranked for a while now. Here's an article from right after his commitment (posted 7/13/24) that refers to him as "the No. 270 overall prospect and No. 22 safety in the 2025 On300" - which matches his current rankings exactly.
In any event, I don't think any of this matters because I think Thomas is in a position to absolutely explode this year. For one thing, ratings services put a big emphasis on senior-year tape and seeing continued improvements, and for another thing, Thomas is an ELITE athlete who is essentially brand-new to football - so putting up (another) good year with everyone watching should by itself be enough to give him a significant bump. And given his newness to football, there's a chance he improves dramatically - in which case he could have a meteoric rise. I really expect him to finish the cycle knocking on the door of the top 100 overall.

I know its all about "clicks" but its crazy how they constantly move these kids up and down the rankings multiple times over the summer.

Yeah that’s when On3 rankings bumped his rating up but the On3 industry rankings hasn’t updated to show that change until now
He was 500 something in the industry rankings now is 329

The analysts who rate and rank college football recruits would never be so lazy as to merely glance at what schools are offering players to determine their rate/rank.
If there was a bump, it only occurred because the analysts conducted more exhaustive first-hand evaluations of the players.
Do you think these guys sit on their couch looking at which college offers what player or where those players commit?

Hell no! They're down at high school practices timing 40s and conducting drills to evaluate those players.
Sure there might be a couple of bad apples out there in the recruiting world.
But you can't hold a whole industry responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole recruiting system? And if the whole recruiting system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of college football in general? I put it to you, isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to recruiting analysts, but I'm not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America.

Totally agree man. Those guys are the elite of the elite when it comes to talent evaluations and no way in hell do I believe for a minute that they base their evaluations or adjust rankings for any reason other than what they’ve seen in person with their own, well trained eyes.

Destrehan vs. Catholic BR to open the season, right?
