Never said there was.

Hell, I don't think there was anything wrong with RP's comments about winning the Heisman 4 years in a row.

I want a QB that is a little cocky, but at least be in the top 5 in the conference if you're going to talk shite.

Yea, Shepard's not guaranteeing 1000 rushing, 1000 passing, and 4 heisman's. The only thing he's saying is that he hopes with the qb problems that he can start early

No criticism of being confident about his talent. Just hope that he is disciplined about being focused and his behavior in the right venue.

RP didn't just say he was going to win 4 heismans tho

he explicitly said, as an 18 year old who hadn't left high school, that he was the best QB on LSU's roster

And everything so far indicates this is the case with this particular young man...

Jamarcus Russell struggled and Matt Flynn is def. not a better QB than me. Awesomeness.

Then I am not upset if he can back his cockiness up with his play.

You're a dummy.

What do you want, a NON confident QB at a major BCS national championship school?

Not saying he's another RP, but I do believe he will have to come down to earth a little when he gets to LSU. Based on other comments he made, like RP, his success in high school has gone to his head a little. The guy has talent, no doubt about that, but he won't look as good as he does in his highlights video when he gets to the next level. It just doesn't work that way. Anyway, this is the quote that concerned me.

“People are going to have fits with me,” Shepard said. “I’m going to bring a dimension to that stadium nobody’s really seen before.”

That does sound more like an RP comment. But I agree that RS is a good kid and I believe he will represent LSU well.

I think he will be broken in and initiated when he gets to LSU, but I still want him to be confident in his ability.

Exactly. But before everybody bashes lsualum96, they need to read the article. His apparent attitude is a little concerning, simply because cockiness can be an Achilles heel if not controlled. Believe me, cockiness was a BIG part of RP's problem, and he never got it under control. I'm betting RS will once he gets on the field with 21 other high school stars.

If you listen to everything this kid has said, this interview sounds a little off. He's said on numerous occasions that if he doesn't earn it he never expects to see the field.

Just saying I wouldn't judge a kid based on a few quotes that were cherry picked to be printed.

Shep's character 1000 x better than RP! That is the difference in realizing talent potential
