Hasn’t he been quoted saying he didn’t want to play where his family would have to fly across the country to see him play?

Richt’s fatal flaw from a recruiting perspective imo was, when he missed on a top target, defaulting to moving down the board to the next available in-state kid instead of finding another elite option elsewhere. There are a lot of good players in GA, but Richt used it as a crutch. The depth deteriorated because of that.

And yet Richt’s and Kirby’s records are almost identical. That says a lot about Kirby’s coaching ability.

They are identical for very different reasons.

Kirby’s greatest success so far was the whirlwind roster and recruiting class churn in 2016-2017. Georgia has literally its most talented team of all time on campus right now, with the exception of QB.

Richt’s great success was bringing modern football concepts to Georgia.

Time will tell if Kirby can adapt the offense.

Ga has always recruited well. Kirby took it to another level by patterning the GA recruiting machine closer to that of Bama's. He learned from the master.

GA...like Bama...will rarely get outbid for a player now. Unless it is by each other. Trey Sanders was a great example last year. $300k for a RB. Whew!

LSU has also stepped up their game a bit. The boosters are all in with Coach O now, and Woodward pretty much has everyone from stem to stern pulling in the right direction.

It's clear to me that Zach Evans knows how to play the recruiting game better than most. He will likely go to the highest bidder between A&M, GA, and LSU.

Pretty sure Chase did a fair amount of this. He’s worked out alright for us.

So we can’t counter offer? Or are you that naive to think we don’t play that game?

If Evans goes to UGA I wouldn’t be shocked if 1 of 4 eventually transfer out.

Kirby would be banking on Zeus having a one hit wonder season going pro next year. Leaving the rock for Cook, Milton, Evans

Also this whole offensive philosophy of spreading the carriers amongst 4 back to appease them isn’t going to turn into a potent enough offense to win a championship.

Coley needs to be fired but if they bring in a spread guy some of those running back just aren’t going get carries which will translate transfer portal.

My fiancé is a UGA alum and hangout with enough UGa fans here in Atlanta.

No way to know that though. Still unknown if Washington and Ringo signed as well.

Impossible

All the experts said it was LSU or Aggy

The kid himself said distance was a factor

All the insiders here said it was LSU or aggy?

Yeah, Richt was an A or A+ gameday coach and mediocre recruiter. Kirby is an A+ recruiter and mediocre gameday coach.

Weird, but it all averages out I suppose.

Doesn't his grandmother live in Baton Rouge? Let's buy that lady a mansion in CCL.

Sounds like for all intent and purposes that Evans has signed with UGA. Need to just move on and start with ppl that want to be here!!!!

No reason to keep it a secret anymore!

If Evans goes to Georgia, LSU should consider itself lucky. You guys can get a high quality RB with much less drama attached and way less baggage. You guys dodged a bullet with this one. LSU will be more than fine with whichever back or backs y'all sign.

He probably is. He lied to the staff and never sent a LOI in. This is the last day. Evans has kept most stuff close to the vest considering where he's leaning. Wouldn't shock me to see him go somewhere like Georgia.
