Probably the same number of pro bowl running backs that Georgia puts in to the league
So 2?

They already have a signed LOI from 5* RB Kendell Milton, who many argue is the #1 RB in this class. Why the fook would Evans sign there?

Who cares at this point, I think we need to turn our attention to Gibbs and Clayton

Same reason Jarrett signed with an abysmal Maryland team, the money was too hard to pass up.

Clayton will not be in this class

Jalen Berger? Who else do we target?
Posted on 12/20/19 at 1:16 pm to lovinLSU
Achane said he was not going there if Evans chose A&M. Achane committed a few weeks ago and signed on Weds. Would Jimbo lie to a recruit? Absolutely. Would he send him an LOI if he had Evans in the bag? I seriously doubt it.

That kid was really high on LSU up to about a month ago. Even had us listed as one of his top 5.
I'd be shocked if he signed here, however. Wisconsin is probably his destination, though Peni State has been working him really really hard. (He has like 6 visits there...)

Chances are the bridge is burned. IS there potential with Gibbs?
ETA: I think Gibbs looks really good on film

I really don't think any bridge is burned with him. He also was not coming here if we signed Evans. I really do believe the reason you don't see us sending daily planes to Joisey is because we already have our man...
Just my barely educated guess, fwiw...

You still think we have Evans? There are plumes of smoke saying he has signed with UGA. I have no sources, but it is hard to ignore it all.
I get most insiders do not know anything really but still....

And also fwiw, Berger is a freaking stud. No idea why he didn't earn a fifth star. Serious north/south threat which opens up all kinds of shite in the spread. He has moves too, but defenses cannot cheat away from the middle of the field with him.

Logic would point in that direction, but as we all have found out many times - logic is seldom at the forefront of the mind of an 18 year old.... Perhaps we have someone else locked in but I cannot imagine who else is waiting to play the hat game.

The Georgia train is going off the tracks.
Said in a thread about Georgia signing another 5 star. If going off the tracks translates into another top 2 class, then I'll take that.

ETA: Richt’s fatal flaw from a recruiting perspective imo was, when he missed on a top target, defaulting to moving down the board to the next available in-state kid instead of finding another elite option elsewhere. There are a lot of good players in GA, but Richt used it as a crutch. The depth deteriorated because of that.
I get that. I’m just saying there is a long way between he sucked as a recruiter and he was good and just got passed up by better ones over time.

Also this whole offensive philosophy of spreading the carriers amongst 4 back to appease them isn’t going to turn into a potent enough offense to win a championship.
That philosophy isn't about "appeasing" the ball carriers. It's about lowering impact/chance for injury and prolonging their careers. As well as keeping fresh legs on the field.
NFL scouts aren't worried with who has the most yards or most carries when evaluating runningbacks.

Y'all are prolly gonna get the other freak-show 5* TE.

Or, you know, we got outworked on a few recruits and overplayed our hand on a few others. It happens.

When you can't win on the field I guess you gotta find moral victories where you can
