His delivery can be corrected. Arm strength can't.

He has not agreed to come yet. From my line of sight, he can whip it, and has a strong arm.

Glad to have the kid, but let’s be honest here. A walk on QB will not be starting for us anytime soon. His delivery is very slow and deliberate and that will hurt him at the college level.

Texas Tech fans probably said the same about Baker Mayfield a few years ago. Some kids blow up late.

Baker Mayfield was a walk on at one point. You never know. It’s rare but it could happen

I was reading somewhere awhile back that they just put a seat up in the stadium I believe for POW's.

Exactly. Which is why I was asking about his offer sheet. Anyone know who he's got offers from? This seems like the kind of kid the previous coaching staff might have extended a late offer to.

Can see a lot of potential... All falls back on QB development and OC hire.

worth noting under the rules if he was to get scholarship from another sport, he would count as a scholarship in the football numbers. I doubt that's where you were going, but your post made me think about it.

Several here including myself have posted about the new recruiting rules increasing the value of walk-ons. This is the poster child for that. He's got the build, several here said he's got the arm, I'm assuming he's got the grades. We're talking about getting him some good coaching it seems.

Assuming there is room under the 85 limit, he can be given a scholarship for the start of his Jr year without it counting against the 25. That gives them 2 years to fix whatever it is (one poster mentioned slow delivery) that is holding him back.

As long as everyone is upfront about expectations here, it could be a win-win.

I've never seen the kid other than his highlight reel posted above, but I don't see an unusually slow delivery as you say. I think maybe his high kick baseball follow through on his throws makes it appear slower to you. It's unusual for sure, but the ball is gone by that point. I think his release time looks average. Again, the only film I've seen is the one posted above.

I have looked at his highlights several times, and while I am not a QB coach, he looks damn good. He has the arm strength and accuracy to throw down field seam routes, and I hope he walks on. He just might be a diamond in the rough who could blossom into a starter in a year or two. Impressive to my eyes.

LSU better have a 3rd QB option. Injuries happen fast and LSU could go from 2 QB's to no QB's in a flash.

He has a weird release but he does look accurate in his highlights. I hope he progresses.

At least in the NFL they say you 'can't teach accuracy'.

This is based on what is usually simplified down to hand-eye coordination but is really a combination of mechanics (fixable) in relation to mental processing from multiple inputs (the field, the pocket, your feet, your body position, etc). Otherwise known as anticipation.

I've come to believe that in big-time college ball it's more important than the NFL. Windows can be just as small. Pass rush can be more dangerous (due to having more holes in the OL). I'd like to see us recruit on that, or as one of the top factors.

This would be a great situation for LSU if Loving accepts the terms. He’ll end up receiving a scholly down the road.

He’s smart and athletic. Adds good depth to our roster at QB.
