I know right. Look I'm not saying he is or isn't but he has no way of knowing that. To me TE is a tad slow and not as shifty as Akers. I know our coaching changes didn't help but I just thought we would be after more big time guys in this class.
I know people that said Fournette looked slow based high school video. If the back pulls away from the defense almost instantly and doesn't get ran down, he's probably has pretty good speed.

And both LA backs fit that description...not DB ever catches them

It would defeat the purpose of putting out highlight tape if in that tape it had you getting caught from behind.

Eff the Star Ratings.
If you watch TE's footage, and don't see that he is as good as Akers...
Then you should study footballs little more.
The only thing Akers has on TE is footwork.
Akers relies more on his footfeork because he is not as fast.
TE is more decisive, faster, and finishes his runs as if he was 20 pounds heavier than he is. The dude has a hunger for the endzone.
I like TE, but let's not go crazy here downplaying Akers,
---At The Opening Finals this summer held in Beaverton, Ore., Akers posted the third-highest Nike Football Rating (ranking athleticism) in America, including a laser-timed 40-yard dash of 4.41 seconds with a 4.18 shuttle

This is pretty simple, guys. Akers has less polish and will have to adjust to playing RB, rather than being a running QB. He obviously has some very impressive athletic gifts and his rating is based on that, but they may not translate directly to that position day 1.
Etienne has played the position and should have less of a learning curve fitting into an offense like ours. He also has a lot of athletic gifts, and has well above average pure speed, which is very important for an RB day 1. He and CEH are likely to make more plays (if given the opportunity) in year one.
After that, assuming FSU puts Akers in the best position to succeed, he should start to really shine. They have recruited really well on the O Line lately, so he should be a beast there down the road.

Per Jennings coaches Etienne a strong Tennessee lean

If Akers said -- "You know, I had a change of heart and I want to be an LSU Tiger."-- some of you tards would be all-in and wanting everyone else to kick rocks.
Your sudden overwhelming love for TE sounds like a rationalization for missing out on Akers.
Downvote all you want, but it's true.

Watching these highlights his style reminds me of Dalvin Cook (no hes not THAT good) but if he gets outside hes gone. Not sure how good is running pro style between the tackles but I'll take him. He just had to be waiting on the LSU offer.

Travis' mom loves Sumlin and wants him to go to A&M but JHS coaches believe he will commit to LSU soon.

that's not really true at all for the people that closely follow recruiting. Maybe the more casual recruiting fan who mainly just follows star ratings Ettienne may seem like settling. Personally I wanted both just because they were both to good to pass up, but if it's one or the other , I would be just as happy with Etienne. Now we just have to go all in on Etienne and hopefully it's not to late.
