Purdue is recruiting the shite out of Louisiana. They have two players from Iowa High in Louisiana.

Crejean Bennett & Curtis Deville. Both are studs.

With walker coming in before him I’m guessing he doesn’t want to sit two years. Could be wrong though

It’s a good school. Maybe he wants to study engineering.

Iowa, LA to Indiana seems like a relatively rough transition

Should be an easy transition to Big 10 country then

He hasn’t had a great season on the field. I think it caused some of the big programs to back off. He’s grabbing a spot with this commitment.

This is in no way a slight on Ricky, but I can confirm he isn’t going to Purdue for the engineering program.

This. Woodlawn thought they would be better this year but have been losing.

His dad and I work together, and I believe he wants the young man to put education 1st, also they are ZERO drama. Not throwing shade on LSU but Purdue is a really good school. Furthermore I believe his father is realistic about Ricky getting playing time at LSU with 2 4*s Max/Nuss plus Howard 5* if he can heal right ahead of Ricky. They would like to avoid all the transfer portal stuff if possible.

Not speaking for their family just saying that is the vibe I've gotten.

Sometimes you have to take any power 5 offer to hopefully increase your recruiting
Plus portal makes spots tougher to get

Woodlawn has probably played the hardest schedule in the state. Rickie has been fine. Nobody is backing off, he's still only halfway through his junior year.
