Hopefully the competition puts a fire under all of their butts and we see some real improvement out of somebody.

Syd Berzon was the starting pitcher last nigh in the Alliance All Star game. She pitched well her two innings and had good stuff, great change of speed. All we can do now is wait until fall ball to see what all the new players can do for next year's team.

I don't see Cummings and Cailand playing much next year. If Peterson can at least get her average to .250, I think she will still start. She is a pretty good 2nd baseman. Beth told me at the Meet and Greet this year that Peterson is the best defensive infielder on the team.

She was the best defensive infielder most of the year. I have to agree

My pie in the sky hope for next season is that Bergeron is a first team All-American from the first pitch and we don't have to talk about catching for another 4 years.

Not having a catcher you can trust defensively is so demoralizing. Had a heck of a run there with Russell, Kloss, Jaquish, and Schlatman we got spoiled. We need an Andrews/Briggs/Pleasants style, go ahead and write their name in pen on the lineup, kind of player.

Johnson a 2022 pitcher from the Thunderbolts fast pitch National final is on ESPNU. She has pitched a good game so far. She’s got some potential.

She ended up with 9K's and only giving up 2 hits an a run in 5 innings.

Well they have 3 highly recruited pitchers in this class coming. Someone you would think should pan out and be very good. Hopefully one of them can step up next year or Chaffin takes a major step. They are going to need someone to help out Kilponen.

Not really recruiting related but as many already know former LSU player Shemiah Sanchez has been battling lupus for a while and is searching for a kidney donor. Keep her in your prayers!

quote:

To see if you are a match:
Fill out an initial questionnaire at emorylivingdonor.org. It will ask for Sanchez’s name, date of birth and the transplant center (Shemiah Sanchez, 05/12/1997, Emory University Hospital in Decatur, GA).

Based on questionnaire results, if you are deemed to be a potential candidate, they will send a follow-up email with instructions for lab work and urine samples at a location near you.For more information, potential donors can also email kidney4miah@gmail.com

Ciara Briggs wins the 2022 Colligate Rawlings Gold Glove Award. She joins AJ Andrews as the only Tiger softball players who have won the award. (AJ's was while playing in the pros)

I just figured out that I'm not sure how to add pictures on here. Hopefully somebody can help me out with those.

LSU Softball roster is updated with no pictures of new players. One thing to be noted is one player who was not announced to be leaving and did not participate in senior day is missing. Looks like a 24 player roster this year.

Karrington is a surprise I don't remember hearing anything about her leaving.

Calland not being on the roster could be an issue. We have 7 pitchers (Strood is a P/Utl) and 3 catchers if you don't count Newland. Even if you count Newland for practice purposes that ratio is not great for reps in practice or working pitcher/catcher chemistry.

Does anybody know if the lack of media availability/coverage of the team is lack of interest or is it a coaching decision? I know Beth is usually less than forthcoming during media day but I just wonder why we never see interviews and press conferences with real questions being asked like we do with baseball.

My sources here in Houston say that Cait graduated and decided not to return and move on in life.

What is the timeline for the 2024 kids? Anybody know if we are still in the running for Jayden Heavener?

the roster was entirely too big so losing players is ok.

More focused development is welcome.

Curious to see what we put on the field this year, especially in the circle

This link will take you to a story about Jayden Heavener and there is a picture of her with Beth and a few other players in what appears to be the softball indoor training center.
