Geez, did y’all see some of the scoring for bama? Totally eye rolling! Also CKC might have been a great gymnast but it seems her coaching is lacking. I can’t believe they have kept her this long when they got rid of Dana and Jay for pretty much the same results.

There was crack scoring across the board in the Tuscaloosa regional.
I don't think anyone was succeeding Yoculan but they were really quick to get rid of Sami's mom and everything has been much worse now

Hello everyone . How is everyone feeling about the regional final meet? I could only post once in the meet thread today about the regional semilfinal to say I was felt like having a heart attack during beam. Felt on edge all the way through. Hope we can shake off the nerves for Saturday’s competition and bring our best. We will be starting on floor and ending on beam which kind of kills me and feel like I will be a nervous wreck till the end of the meet but hope we can start strong and gain confidence. Slightly worried about score building and doing our 2 worst events last but it’s what we deserve and hope starting on floor may help for post season if we make it though as will mean we will have practiced starting on every event. If we make it through tomorrow I really hope we can spend the next 2 weeks practicing pressured situations in gym. Livvy although not perfect today did not crumble after chase fell which was a definitive improvement. Haleigh seems to have a bit of a mental block atm so hope she can hit well tomorrow and get some confidence back. I still believe this team can win a national championship but wow felt ill today watching the meet??

I actually think we’re going to kill it today. Just have a feeling that the gymnasts are going to have a strong rebound.

I hope you’re right. However, is anyone else as concerned as I am about the rotation order?

from a different prospective, maybe if we come out hot on our best events, if will give us some juice and confidence going into the last rotation.
Gotta be much better today

I think if Jay makes the right judgement call on beam tonight (Alyona instead of Sami), even if Desiderio had a nervy routine, Alyona can put the beam lineup back on track for Haleigh to hit normally the way we know she can. That’ll take the pressure off of Dean, Kiya and Campbell to hit normally like they did yesterday to finish the meet out strong for us. We just gotta do our job on the first 3 events to hit normal solid rotations to get the momentum built up and going to get a great beam score

Y’all make it sound so simple lol! I always feel better after reading the positive comments. After last night, I was thinking we would have to get very luck to advance.

Me making it sound simple is how I get myself to not freak out lol

It’s so “frustrating” watching teams like Florida, Minnesota, Utah, and Oklahoma on beam. None of those difficult leaps and splits like LSU does. They keep it simple and get the heck off the beam. Why can’t LSU do that?!?!?

It surprises me that AG doesn't realize that simple and clean is better.

Lucky again to advance today. I see haleigh has a toe injury . Hope that heals for nationals. We will be on the same rotation for nationals I think start on floor and end on beam. At this rate we are not at the level of Alabama or Oklahoma and will be lucky to get through. Hope they can sort things out in next two weeks. It appears haleigh may have been off due to altitude. I saw an interview from jay yesterday and he said she was out of breath so it appears she may have been struggling with that and potentially why she struggled on her floor last pass - running out of steam

SF 2
VT Alabama
UB Oklahoma
BB Utah
FX LSU
It would take a miracle for us to advance, honestly.

We will finish a distanced 4th in this group if we do what we did in regionals. Better get in the gym and clean up.

Call me crazy, but the other bracket scares me more?

Jay talked to the parents and fans after the meet before the girls got on the bus to head home. He didn’t seem worried at all about nationals and is incredibly optimistic about what the team will work on and be able to put down in the next two weeks before Nationals and in Fort Worth

Could alyona do a double tuck with the same routine and meet the competition requirements on bars to start from a 10? Genuinely curious. I know they probably won’t change her dismount now but I’m genuinely interested to know.

Yes. She just needs to do a stalder or giant 1/1 before the double tuck.

What did he say?? I am interested, especially if he spoke to both parents and fans attending, then hopefully someone who was there can tell the rest of us fans who weren’t there what his thoughts were

LSU's National Ranks by Event
#2 on Vault
#6 on Bars
#7 on Beam
#2 on Floor
Beam ranked #7 nationally is our worst showing on that event since 2013 when we ranked #11. I hope next year we take every switch half out. I think that would help Kiya significantly. Thankfully LSU has a Finnegan coming in
I have to go back to the rule book but Alyona is definitely doing more than is required on beam
