If Caitlyn does move to manager and a scholarship opens, is there anyone specific we would try to get next year or would we save it for '23?

TB357....you really do expect Sami to return?? That would be great! I thought the general feeling was that none of the seniors were coming back.

Most of the seniors are all considering coming back with Sami and Sarah almost definite Whether they make a lineup is another story. If you are being offered another year with a scholarship you should probably take it

Durante didn’t start competing beam for us until her sophomore year when Macadaeg and Hambrick graduated

I would like Sami to comeback, but would prefer we take her off of beam - I feel like if she does come back, Jay will be wedded to her on beam regardless.

While true, things like Relevé and toe point/extension on beam isn't usually made in college unfortunately. Its something you develop during your club years. College coaches really can't do a lot about that, its something you sorta have or you don't at this point.

That isn't a knock on Sami at all, she still gives LSU very good routines.

With that said, I will take every senior back, even if most of them see reduced competition time. Having depth and good leadership is important.

I have a difficult time seeing Desiderio's body cooperate on floor next year but will take her lead off beam routine every day of the week. Edwards is probably going to graduate school so it would be good to have her back too if possible

I think Christina is ready to be back with the bf. I don’t see her coming back, injuries or no injuries.

I was going to say the same thing. I think the two of them are ready to start their life together outside of college once she graduates, especially after being long distance due to covid and PQ playing in the NFL this past year

How crazy is it that Trinity was left out, not to mention there were no Florida gymnasts who qualifed? I know the bama fans will think its obvious that Blanco should have won...but there is no doubt that Trinity is superior, without taking anything anyway from how good Blanco is. Do they really put that much weight on SECs? If they do, then I would think Jenny Rowland shouldn't have been coach of the year?

I thought they could have went co gymnast in this case with that. Trinity was #1 in the country in the AA.

These awards should be based off the entire season body of work. So she basically got knocked for being injured the last meet of the season

I agree. Trinity and Blanco should have been co-gymnasts of the year.

Trinity missed 25% of the regular season and fell in I think a third of the regular season meets that she did compete. Blanco competed every meet With no major mistakes and got better throughout the season, so I’m ok with it.
The Jenny choice is questionable...i would have picked Jordyn with the records that her team broke this year.

Wish there was an award for most improved gymnast, I think people would vote Alyona. Went from a bars specialist year one to an all arounder who went 9.9+ on all 4 events this season. Bars honestly may be her weakest event of them all which is the funny part.

Happy she made All SEC, what an amazing year for her. She's just getting started....

Good Morning, Tigerbait357!

I have a friend whose daughter was competing Level 8 at the State Meet yesterday, and she wasn't given credit for the same shape salto-salto that she's done all year. She needed a 9.4 to make the state team and it was taken away from her because one judge didn't feel it qualified. She was CRUSHED.
I don't know if you have any "pull" with the girls, but this is very similar to what happened to Haleigh earlier in the year on floor, and I don't know if this is allowed, but I think it would be wonderful if Haleigh could reach out to her to offer a word of encouragement - even if just on her instagram!

Good morning. I'm very sorry to hear that, its hard to see all the work you put it and come up short.

I know Haleigh, if you want you could hit her up on Instagram, she is very interactive with a lot of LSU fans, especially the young kids.

Thanks, Tigerbait357.

I can't send her a message on IG because she doesn't follow me.
The young gymnast I'm talking about is gymnast_de on IG. Her last post explains it (by her mom). Maybe you could mention it to her to offer a word of support?

I’ll reach out and see what I can do

Btw Haleigh follows her, so If she reached out directly I bet you $100 she will respond.
