Sorry, been busy, but Aleah has shown an Omelianchik on social media which is a round off 1/2 on and a pike off. I think Bailey competed that same vault at LSU for reference. Anyway, that's a 5.2 SV, so most likely did that vault. Potentially vault for her next year as a Tiger???

Depends how she lands it, but I think she sticks with a yurchenko style vault in college, doing a 1.5 (currently does a double in elite)

Her Yurchenko is much cleaner than her other vault.

Yurchenko vaults tend to score better in college and are the more favorable vaults it seems when it comes to judges. Unless she can stick the Omelianchik consistently every time, I suggest she sticks with a 1.5 or double twist at LSU to avoid any additional form or landing deductions

What are the odds that a team will have to miss regionals or nationals due to COVID-19 protocols. Can you all imagine if One of the top teams couldn’t compete ? No more rescheduling meets for the rest of the season, hope our girls and coaching staff are being careful

Agreed. Already have had many basketball teams disqualified in their conference tournaments due to a positive case

If you want some hype before the meet this Saturday, the 2019 SEC Championship was just uploaded this week

My favorite of our 3 back to back to back titles. Our girls were On FIRE that day, especially in the final rotation. The energy in that arena was out of this world. By the end of the night my voice was shot, I could barely hear a word, and drunk to the max but that was the most fun I’d ever had at a gymnastics meet.

I've seen her around campus with one on many times this season. A lot of times this is generally precautionary

yes I saw that as well. funny but no one is freaking out and blaming them. everyone is so sad for them. wonder if this had been lsu what the reaction would be?

I am sad for them and hope they can all be back healthy for regionals.

I'm no Georgia fan but I do feel for them and those kids. An outbreak can occur at any moment, even with being careful. Hope they get healthy for regionals.

Based on the premeet notes, Durante will vault. No Ryan.

Beam will be Desiderio, Durante, Bryant, Dean, Johnson, Campbell

Bars Brock is 2nd....

Even with her one miss the only time Jay let her compete in lineups this year, I’d still go with Ryan over Durante. She has cleaner vault form and a 10.0 SV. Plus if Durante’s ankle acts up on beam or bars, Ryan is more than ready to go

Well, let's hope Campbell will be healed enough to hit the back layout without a fall or huge wobble on beam and Durante as well since the layout has been iffy for her. Bars will be nerve racking but dreaming for a rotation score that keeps the team in the hunt.

I was hoping for Arenas on bars and Ryan on vault.

Personally I like Chase’s vault much better. Sami always has a significant pike in hers. I’m not sure how she has beat out Chase.

Agree with all of this. Would even take Brock over Durante on vault but what can we do

What is strange about the Brock vs durante thing is that Brock was scoring really well - better than Sami ever has. I really hope Reagan has a good beam outing!

Also, in unsurprising news, people managed to turn the Georgia thing into another LSU bashing session - about how LSU,s horrid COVID protocols probably gave everyone here immunity and that it’s essentially unfair that a team like that gets to co Pete in post season. The mental gymnastics is nearly as impressive as actual gymnastics.

Sami has really improved a lot on vault but I'm interested to see how hard the judges hit her for piking it significantly. She gets a little more distance than Brock but its easier to land it when you pike it down that much, which is why judges deduct for it.

Brock has a pretty textbook vault, straight body and form. Only thing she will need to work on this offseason is getting a little more amplitude on her vault but I mean for someone who has been injured the last two years, she has a lot of promise in the future on vault.

I have to say, Bob Moore did one helluva job developing Elena, Alyona's, and Ryan's vaults. Alyona and Kam were not training vault much last year due to injury but developed superb 1.5 vaults in one offseason. Elena has come a long way on vault since 101 too, you can see her progression. I can easily see an upgrade in her future.
