Yea the fb group is pretty horrible. The leader Jennifer is the one of the worst. I only stay on to keep up with what’s going on for my fantasy gym. Would love to tell them where to stick it and leave though!

The thing that irritates me the most with this whole thing is they go on as if they had worn the mask 24/7 that no one would get infected.

I have been extremely careful always wearing a mask where I went due to being around many high risk patients. I literally took every precaution possible and I still caught COVID this past fall. Sometimes shite happens.

Already told her where to stick it over a year ago multiple times. She didn’t give a shite. Basically just told me I was a sensitive little bitch and to grow the hell up. She talks to everyone that way no matter how old or young they are. Not very professional

Exactly. Like I said before: my friend got it living at home by herself for 8 months. Another perfect example of shite happens

It is also hilarious to me how seriously they take their moderating duties and how they have to close the group to take a break from time to time. I mean, I do check gym sites, but I certainly don’t devote that much time to it (also does it even really need a moderator?) it’s just so strange to me.

Not surprised in the least about the reaction over the news. I posted Friday night that the message boards were having a field day just over a couple of pictures posted by LSUgym Instagram. People aren’t even trying to hide their glee and “I told you so’s”. I don’t get the hate for LSU and Jay. I could see if we were like the Bama of gymnastics and we won Super Six every other year. Anybody know the backstory of why the hate?

I saw someone on twitter after gym 101 fat shaming Jay. Not cool

It's because of politics and religion. They see Jay as a Trump loving republican, and the team as religious. They lost their marbles after our first SEC championship when the team was praying after the win. Many, many more examples as well.

Awesome! Btw do we know which vault Aleah is likely to do next year in college?

Likely a 1.5 although I won’t rule out a double but the 1.5 IMO would be easier for her to land.

Tori Tatum also competes a 1.5 on vault. LSU has a great chance to have six 10.0 vaults next season, even if Edwards didn’t come back.

Brock if she continues to work on improving her block off the table will have her 1.5 at some point. It’s definitely a text book vault in terms of overall form. Tight body, no piking or leg crossing

Sierra Ballard trains a 1.5 as well. Something to continue to watch. Bob is one of the best in the business when it comes to developing vaulters

Aleah Finnegan bars training

Heres a clip of part of Aleah's bars she is training. I like that dismount so much better than her last one.

I still don't get why Aleah is only a "4 star" recruit. Her vault, floor, and beam are all already incredible and while her bars are very weak for elite, her form and handstands will be perfect for a college routine. Like Sarah she has perfect form and is even more powerful. Easily a 5 star recruit in my eyes.

She really isn't. They have Aleah and Grace McCallum as 4 stars while putting some very average level 10 kids w/ form issues as 5 stars. The rankings definitely don't make sense. Per the person who made the rankings, they said Aleah had "form issues that would limit her at NCAA". I have no clue what the hell they are looking at.

Sarah was very weak as an elite on bars and ends up being a two time national title winner on bars simply because her form is great and had a strong foundation. Aleah will go to college with the exact same pedigree. Clean execution and form with an arsenal of skills to choose from for NCAA.

i guess you have not have read their star criteria being based on both scores and video reviews rather than subjective judgment of NCAA potential? With poor or not enough scores, they can’t score someone based on their stated criteria.

all the 5* JO gymnasts they've ranked happened to have extremely high and consistent JO scores which seem to translate well to college. 3 out of the 5 top AA gymnasts only competed JO... (Wojchik, Bryant, Loper)

Feel free to come up with your own rating and then compare 3-4 years later on which rating criteria was better at predicting success.

I did, but question, they talk about scores given but that seems weird, Especially for the elites, who get scored way less often and judged at a much different manner than JO. rating Amari Celestine, Jayce Vore, Skyla Schulte all better than McCallum and Finnegan, which I respectfully disagree. I think Jayce Vore is very good and she should transition well based off her success as a JO gymnast. I don't disagree with most of their ratings but not sure I agree specifically with some of the selections.

I think its fair to say a lot of JO's may transition smoother to NCAA but some of the elites have far greater potential given their polish and level of difficulty.

When you look at 247/ESPN/Rivals etc rate recruits in football and basketball, they look at their talent, current production, and potential based on what they are doing and they make their ratings on where they project to be. A lot of raw kids transition year one before going on to dominate later on. The gym ratings are obviously using a bit of a different criteria but thats their choice.

Top recruits in general, especially elites who go to the Florida/UCLA/Utah rarely get to do AA as well because those teams are just ridiculously stacked. There is a surge of elites in NCAA after each olympics, next years freshmen class will absolutely be crazy with the elites coming to NCAA.

2019, the AA standings were

1. M. Nichols
2. K. Ross
3. M. Skinner
4. S. Finnegan
5. B. Dowell
6. Trinity Thomas

I expect something similar with next years freshmen class taking over NCAA. Sunisa, Finnegan, Wong, Eaker, McCusker, Blakely, Carey, Hurd, Malabuyo (if healthy), Chiles,

Have you heard if the testing was clear for the girls? I have to wonder if the results were negative. If so, will the meet with Auburn be a go during the bye next week. Just bummed that we can't watch them tonight.
