I think Kaytlyn. Johnson is gonna be in that vault lineup by midseason if her double continues to progress. They are pacing her but her power is ridiculous.
CD looks great so far. I hope her body continues to cooperate with her so she can have a good 5th year injury free.
I hope I don't get knocked for this but I still see zero reason for H. Bryant to be ending floor with a front double full. Especially with her difficulty already. Plus she normally has some small form on that skill (leg crossing). Give her something easy and clean. Better consistency and she likely gets more 10's this year.

One other thing i forgot to mention, they reworked Chase Brocks bars. She no longer has that 1/2 pirouette on the high bar. She has a clear hip instead. She actually fell on her first dismount, but that was probably more of a fluke. With her execution on everything else (and of course she nailed the dismount later) i think it’s going to be hard for someone else to knock her out of that 6th bars spot. Her handstands and swings looked that good.

I was working yesterday but thanks for the update. My friend hasn't told me anything about the intersquad.
Brock actually developed dramatically last year the later part of the year, excited to see how she progresses this year.
Lineups are gonna be interesting once we get Aleah rolling and Olivia more involved.

I’m really trying to remember everything else. I should have taken notes to share, but they’ll have another intrasquad in two weeks and I’ll try to actually capture notes for everyone.
Again, just remembering things, literally as i type, Ryan’s 1 1/2 did not impress on vault yesterday. She actually landing with her head turned in the opposite direction she is twisting (which is weird) but just makes me think she’s still getting lost in the air. (Edited: they’re probably coaching her to complete the full and spot the ground and then 1/2 turn. That would be why her head is facing opposite of the way she is twisting. I personally was never good at that. I just cranked whatever i was doing and knew how hard to pull. I know the technique they’re coaching is technically correct, but i take pride that neither Simone or Alex Mcmutry spotted when they did twisting elements too) Unless she really improves, i don’t see her in the lineup this year either. She did a really nice Yfull though that could have went for a 9.875 pretty easily.
If y’all think of anything else y’all want to know just ask. There’s still a part of me that doesn’t want to give too much away, since we know certain gymnastics blogs read our posts (because literally it’s verbatim in their posts sometimes) but Jay did a really good job of showing enough of his potential that it should scare everyone, but he definitely didn’t show his hand.

Why is Livie being held out and how did Alyona look? Thanks!

I saw her elbow wrapped the other day. Some things may be precautionary right now.

Jay was really transparent with why people were held back. But i missed his debrief after beam to find out about RC. Livie just had a fall on bars and she still had some soreness (nothing serious) so that’s why she was held out.
Like Tigerbait said, it’s about training smart. If a kid has some weird aches, let them get treatment and just rest.

Elizabeth Gantner has committed to Utah.

I wonder how long things are gonna last with Kupets at Georgia.

1 year too long so far but that’s okay with me because with auburn and Kentucky getting better, and bama coming back, I can do without GA! Lol

I also wanted to note that OU picked up 3 recruits for the 2023 class this past weekend as well. All level 10 athletes. I saw Kentucky picked up two, although I hadn't heard their names before. That 2023 class is really starting to roll now.

Ashley Cowan has committed to LSU as well. Don’t know much about her but she will be a walk-on.

She’s a walk on for the incoming class. Very talented bar worker. Used to be committed to Missouri on full scholarship

Anya Pilgrim (an elite from Hills Gymnastics) committed to Florida, I think she’s class of 2023. Hills is becoming a bit of a Florida pipeline.

Makes me wonder if Shilese is not going to Florida anymore. From my count, Florida didn’t have an open scholarship if she was.

Weren’t they trying to get Kylie Coen for this class (2023)? Maybe Anya got the spot after Kylie chose LSU

There is a nice write up on Kylie Coen on the College Gym News Twitter page.

I'm loving Aleahs dismount on bars

That’s a huge step for her to break into that lineup!
