You could be right about Ohashi but then comes Kyla Ross with her tens next year and will probably receive the award. Sarah Finnegan truly deserves this honor with all the AA wins and stellar performances over the years.

Kai has been phenomenal this 2nd part of the season. Her and Kiya are gonna be fan favorites next year.

Best pair of all arounders since this senior class

Just getting caught up on all this... I've been thinking all year I can't wait until LSU is scored with the same judges as the OUs, UCLA, and Utahs. The end of the season we saw looser scoring, but man, they hammered us at the beginning while at the same time UCLA looked like a homecoming queen riding around the field in a convertible with Miss Val on top waving. I love how the "experts" on some other websites (and completely biased podcasts) are so in love with UCLA and OU and think it's not even close with another team. I'm hoping we get to surprise some people!M

That’s awesome!

Haleigh Bryant is also headed to nationals in Indy! So proud of all of these commits.

Sierra Ballard also is heading to nationals

LSU's commits are having big showings. For the record on Kiya's monster all around score, a 39+ at the JO level is similar to a 39.700 + at the NCAA level.

What will be interesting is if LSU keeps Kiya's double twisting yurchenko when she comes in. If it continues to be consistent, fans will be in for a treat with that vault off the top next year.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Emma Kelley posted on her instagram that she has just had UCL surgery. She doesn't get to LSU until 2020, but not a great sign that we're getting another banged up gymnast. She has time to bounce back, and I think she could be great if she does, but never nice seeing a recruit getting surgery.

Yes! Tori got a 38.025 (1st) and Ballard got a 37.7 (3rd) in their respective divisions. So proud of all of these young ladies.

Kai looks good and much improved in several areas. She didn't use her double lay on floor. I hope she will return to it as well as the DFY. She certainly has the power to execute both. Thank you for sharing each event.

She is still easing back in from an ankle injury, I just think she played it safe

She is dramatically improved on bars and beam. Her vault is beautiful as well. This is the type of recruit LSU has been missing these last couple years who can come in immediately and produce high scores out the gate.

So excited to watch Kai next year! Can’t wait to see what ACKT does with her floor routine. The floor options are endless next year with Edney, Harold, Campbell, Desederio, Edwards (if she can upgrade), Ferrer, Rivers, and Johnson. And I wouldn’t count out Dean and Kirby. Kirby has had good execution in the past on floor.

Also, I think LSU will have a top 3 vault team next year with Edney, Edwards, Harold, Rivers, Johnson, and Ferrer. That’s a potential of six 10.0 start value vaults if Kai gets her double full back. Of course execution will be a big factor but I think it’s possible.

Have to hope they get scored in the same way if those judges are involved next week. It never seems to happen in the finals, especiall with the Tigers dynamic floor show as compared to OU and the things UCLA gets away with. Hope this year they finally catch a break or two.

How are judges allocated in the finals? Are there representatives of each region in the grouping for each rotation?

Lexie is back on bars. Per D-D, she did vault, bars, and a two-pass floor routine in practice today.

Just a side note, it doesn’t sound like McKenna is coming back for a 5th year.

I wasn't expecting her to be back. She flirted with the idea to come back at the end of the year but it seemed like an emotional thing, not an actual desire to come back for a 5th year. If she comes back it would be a shock to me and others at this point.

I fully expect Lexie to be on bars and vault for championships. Floor LSU will have Campbell and Desiderio. I think floor is way too risky for Lexie at this point.

Btw I'm making another Gym thread so we can get rid of this long one.

I think the two most important routines on Friday will be Christina as the leadoff on beam and the Lexie's bars; if we can start off at least consistently on beam, then I think we have a chance to make it to the final and Lexie is the bridge from Kennedi to Sarah that will help lift Sarah's bars score into the stratosphere.

Any thoughts? Excited for this weekend!

I too am excited for the weekend! Here's my opinion on the most important routines this weekend.

Vault - Edwards has to hit. We'll need a 9.9+ score from her.

Bars - Bailey has to hit in the second spot. She need to get a 9.85+. Lexie is gonna get a 9.9+ if she hits but Bailey has to hit. Harrold has the built in deductions on her bail and dismounts. Those alone will potentially drop her score.

Beam - I agree that Desederio is critical. She gives the rest of the lineup (mostly Dean, Durante, and Edney) confidence when she hits. Also, I think Edney needs a 9.9+ score.

Floor - Harrold and Desederio (because of her difficulty) have to hit in order to build the scores for the back three in the lineup.

Of course, I want everyone to hit but those are the routines that stick out to me.
