You are correct, for some reason I thought it was yesterday. If she does she is suppose to, she should come out with the same medals

Does what she normally does she should come out with the same medals

First day of official practice today

Sarah Edwards was working a big double layout

Mckenna with a full twisting double back

Rebecca D'Antonio is legit, and has some serious damn potential. I originally did not expect a whole lot from her but went some minor improvements in some details she could be big time on floor and possible beam for LSU. She was working a perfect double Arabian today, I am sure a video is out there somewhere.

Watch out for the sophomore class.

Found it

Not at all surprised that Edwards would be working a double layout, she has so much power. Glad McKenna is on track, hopefully she can avoid another injury. I always worry about those athletes going down again.

I had a feeling that Rebecca would be a surprise.I've watched all of her training videos over the past year.It was apparent that she had the potential to contribute with more work and opportunity. Thanks for sharing the video of her Arabian.

Olivia Dunne's Onodi to an illusion looks good.I hope she will have a good year.

I can see it from Rebecca too - her leaps on beam are beautiful! I'm not the biggest fan of punch fronts on beam in college, which she competed in JO. It's almost like a built in deduction, so maybe they'll rework that, but she has tremendous upside.

Compared to last year, its night and day when talking about the health of this team. A couple kids has some minor nicks but I mean when does a gymnast not? Sophomore class is ridiculously healthy. Priessman and Kelley are on a great path right now.

Its the first official day for all preseason practices, its a structured practice.

The sophomore class stood out in a very good way, I think the sophomore will be playing a much greater role this season with production of even bigger scores.

I really like what Sarah Edwards has the potential to do on floor and vault. She just continues to progress. When working on tumbling she was throwing out big double layouts, they were pretty easy for her and the form was wonderful. I tell you what, she easily could be in the floor lineup this season if she continues on this path.

Desiderio and Campbell both are looking very strong. Campbell is suppose to expand her role much more this season. Desiderio is much more fit compared to where she was last year.

Expect to see Bridget Dean this season, on beam and bars. She is very good and will surprise a lot of people. She has the skills and potential for 9.9's on both events. Dean seems to be a big priority right now, they like what she can add to this team.

Mckenna is working very hard and looks as strong as ever. She is working hard on beam. She is very solid on all the skills she does.

D'Antonio looks legit, I was pleasantly surprised and was blown away by some of her tumbling and work on the beam. She definitely can be a contributor for LSU at some point. That double Arabian is perfect.

I expect LSU to pick up where they ended last year and continue to build. The younger kids are a year older, now much healthier most importantly.

Keep in mind Ferrer comes in December to LSU and she will be a big player for us this year. Ferrer has been cleaning up her beam a bit it seems. The leaps look improved.

IMO LSU will be improved on vault, bars, and floor. Beam will be a work in progress not that we will be bad. Expect to see Desiderio move into the lead off role and for them to build the lineup around her. We will see a lot of different kids get opportunities. We will see different combinations until we find the right one. Ferrer, Cannamela, Kelley, Dean, Kirby, Durante all will vie for those last two spots. I feel pretty confident that one spot definitely is going to Dean unless she has a complete meltdown

Restructuring of some routines is still in the works but its still too early at this point

Thank you so much for the update Tigerbait! I won't be in BR again until 10/19 so your update is much appreciated! I'm literally booking travel around attending practice that day so I can't wait - fingers crossed no delays flying in!

Yes, practice is open to fans to come stop and check them out

Practices are usually in the afternoon. A lot of time the team meetings are around 1:30, but everyone is certainly welcome. They actually enjoy seeing people take in the facility and bring this type of support for the program

Lmao

Good riddance.

Curious if they promote from within and try to keep the same blood or go get a big proven coach, Rhonda Faehn

Although I’d be shocked if they did hire her after Val trashed her over the USA gym situation

I know this is the recruiting thread but just wanted to say Rebecca D'Antonio impressed at practice again. She really has been a wonderful surprise.

Ruby looks good as well, and Mckenna looks great on vault.

Flogymnastics has an article on LSU's freshmen gymnasts and the return of McKenna Kelly. Of course there is an article on "Miss Val" as well.

If Rebecca stays healthy she could contribute on several events. Proud of her and excited for her to get an opportunity to compete as a Tiger!

Curious are you related to Rebecca?

I agree with you too. Staying healthy held her back at the JO level but she truly has a great foundation to work with. She has great skills on floor and beam. She was doing some great vaults yesterday btw.

I like her a lot, she looked much better in person/more polished than I expected than seeing her in limited opportunities. Tiger fans should be excited about this one

Really shows you how important these camps are in spotting/evaluating talent.

I was talking with Alicia Sacramone after the Arkansas meet last year, she said her mouth dropped when she found out Sarah Edwards was only a walk on freshman lol
