My worst nightmare is Alabama lets go of Duckworth next year, and then they hire Rhonda. I'm praying Rhonda will open her own gym or something like that. Just please don't come back to NCAA.

Or DD wins it all this year and retires, and brings her here :) She keeps Jay and along with killing it at LSU, they run a national level age group program!

Jay is the heir apparent unless some great opportunity he cannot turn down presents before D D retires. Doubtful he would stay if someone else gets the job.

I agree. If someone came in and scooped up the head coach job then LSU would have to do that knowing Jay would likely be leaving. Might be worth it for someone like Rhonda but the chances of it happening are slim to none. If she wants to get back to coaching then Bama is the obvious choice in the near future. I can almost guarantee that the big players at Bama have already discussed if and when to contact Rhonda.

I’m excited to see Emma Kelley try to qualify to elite. I think she tries to today at Auburn gymnastics Elite qualifier

Updates soon

Texas Dreams has paid dividends for her no doubt.

I feel like they're grooming Gnat for something. I don't know if anyone else noticed that DD did not coach beam at Nationals. I know Gnat coached beam all year, but I was just surprised to see Gnat on the podium coaching at such a high stakes event. I kind of expected DD to be on the podium since she's still involved with beam, but I think having only Gnat up there says a lot. Any thoughts or am I overthinking this?

It would be great to keep her on staff after she completes grad school. When D D retires if Jay gets the the job she could move up to associate head coach unless Bob Moore wants it. It seems he is content to fill his niche in which he is a tremendous contributor to the success of the program.

With Bugs personality, passion for LSU and gymnastics and her age she might be a great recruiter. She definitely relates to young gymnasts. Hope they can keep her involved and maybe one day become head coach.

They are letting her coach beam but after the Missouri meet this past season, Gnat was place on the back burner, DD came back and essentially ran it all, which is a major reason we saw our beam rotation turn the corner. She still provides instruction but on a lesser role. DD still gives the pep talks and corrections like always but Gnat is just a friendly face on the side during the meets.

Gnat wants to get into coaching and are allowing her opportunities but DD still runs the show on that event for the most part. I think a major reason she is on the mat during beam is because she brings comfort as she’s been in these kids positions for years and has succeeded. She will continue to assist on beam this season but ultimately it will all run through DD.

Word around is she will help more on floor next season! It’s a major adjustment to go from competitor to the coach who can only watch when the flag goes up. Next year is suppose to be her last season.

Flogymnastics has ranked the teams at super six based off difficulty.

LSU ranked #4 on bars, #2 on floor, #1 on beam. Vault ranks will come soon. But floor is incredible considering we lost major routines from Ewing, Zamardi, Kelley and Gnat.

2 of the LSU’s freshman Desidero and Campbell both perform switch half which is E level. Campbell and Desiderio also have a ridiculous amount of connections in their routines. They need to take these leaps out next year, we will score better come nationals. Only place for them to deduct us are on those leaps. Way too much risk. Beam is the one place I really think Judges don’t care. Vault and floor I am fine with the difficulty.

This freshman class will do some incredible stuff for us with another off season. Edwards is a quick learner. That 1 1/2 will be absolute money next year!

Emma placed first in every event today and in the all around.

Qualifies to tomorrow, if she puts up the same performance, she will qualify to elite.

Also Aleah will compete today in the elite qualifier! Did not see her compete yesterday which is why I was confused!

The meet is in Seattle!

Did Emma have a fall on beam yesterday? Has she already competed today? This new scoring/elite requirements is foreign to the era when our daughter was elite.

Hey even people who deal with it today find it confusing, every year there are dramatic changes.

I’ll update when they finish and scores are updated!

I didn’t see her her beam but saw vault and floor, both were fantastic.

For a tease, go to Aleah Finnegans Instagram account, she has a piece of her beam routine, she looks great. The flexibility is improving.

It’s funny how different Sarah and Aleah are, Aleah is a power gymnast. Artistry from all GAGE gymnasts are spot on. A couple of GAGE girls are suppose to visit this summer again. Also LSU is always working on a relationship with Konnor McClain. I am sure most the gym world already knows who this young lady is.

Bama is working hard on some of the Texas Dreams girls that we have interest in. I’d be really shocked if Annie Beard ends up elsewhere! Texas Dreams is a factory of elite girls, hell they have a lot of the best level 10s as well!

Aleah's skills look strong on beam. I hope she hits as well as she did in her training video on Instagram!

Any news for Aleah and Emma qualifying as elite at the Auburn meet? I see there is one last qualifier in July.

Aleah didn’t, she lacks consistency with big big skills. On a positive note her beam routine was incredible and was at an elite level!

She had a horrendous block off the table on her vault. Vault is her best event. Didn’t see her floor. Her hand slipped off the bar on one skill which derailed it all

Alexis Jefferey killed it there along with the other GAGE gymnasts!

Not sure on Emma yet!
