Edwards doesn't need to clean up the full full pass, it needs to be dumped. That pass is hard and she struggled with it more than once.

This!!!

I also think some of the beam routines need to be restructured, I think we can maximize scores more here with a few adjustments to certain routines.

Not sure if I am the only one but I pray Edney does not have a another cheesy routine again next season. Not really fans of cheesy floor routines, I hope we choreograph powerful music and choreography. I sorta feel like it can be a bit of a turn off to judges. Thats just me though personally.

Gotta say I disagree on Edney and floor. Some athletes struggle with the dance/movement component...we laugh when it’s another team but it can be a huge problem score wise. If that’s the case with Edney I prefer last year’s style performed with confidence over a more traditional floor performed awkwardly.

As far as turn off to the judges, stating the obvious they all have their preferences, but I think some of them enjoy those routines...I haven’t noticed for Edney but it wasn’t uncommon to see judges literally dancing in their seats while judging Hall’s floor. That’s not the best behavior either but I bet the scores reflected the judges’ happiness

I think the biggest thing we need to restructure on beam are the leap series. There is absolutely no need for so many leaps containing rotation. All the switch split 1/4s and switch halfs are really difficult. They are not only more likely to result in a wobble or fall but they are also harder to hit the full split. Look at Nichols' beam. No rotating on any of her leaps, it is a VERY stock routine. She performs it beautifully and can score a 10 at any meet.

I think the only one on our team who should be doing those kinds of leaps is Finnegan. Macadaeg was also fine. Hambrick got hit on her leaps every time, it is why she never could score a 10. Edney does as well, although hers looked improved at Nationals. We have seen Campbell and Desiderio struggle. Cut out that difficulty. DD has to have figured out by now that she is not winning a National title with extra difficulty on beam. They don't/can't ignore wobbles.

Yup, Essentially everyone outside of Finnegan and Erin last season was hammered on their leaps. The switch half is very difficult to perform, a lot of people wobble or don't even fully hit the split. I know we like to do it because we earn .50 of bonus from it but I don't like it because its difficult to be consistent with it. Sarah has her moments with it where she has trouble. LSU needs to water down the leap portions. Desiderio and Campbell can be a 9.95 routine every week with proper adjustments to their routines. Also does Campbell really need to do a double for the dismount vs a 1 1/2 twist?

Edney's leaps were a thousand times better at nationals, I actually am really excited to see her beam next season. If she continues to improve the footwork and leaps it is a 9.9 type routine every week for her.

I am all for difficulty but difficulty on beam doesn't matter, its been very apparent these last few years. I am all for all difficulty on vault and floor but beam, all that matters is that its clean and consistent.

Wouldn't be surprised, everyone has been pushing for this from the start. Main reason was her associations with Martha. Anyone with a past with her is now disposed of, a lot of the trainers and people all are out as well.

Sucks for her because she literally just walked in right before the Karolyi's retired. She loved her job. I think she is correct for the job but its political at this point. IMO USA gymnastics really would be making a major mistake to force a coach like her leave. Internally its a shite show now.

Would be funny to see Bama just all of a sudden fire Duckworth and hire Faehn

I have some MAJOR issues with this sex scandal now, I know a lot of stuff that has happened but some people in particular fabricating some stuff for their agenda and to pick up benefits and its completely disgusting. I know this for a fact, some of these ladies text each other what to say and to make sure everyone has the same storyline.

Still waiting for Alexis Jeffery to announce her commitment to LSU

She looked excellent at JO's, she is suppose to compete at classics.

She is a natural on bars and she has a nice look on beam and floor. So much potential with her

Hope Alexis commits and Kara Eaker. Kara is a natural on beam and would be asset to our beam team. Jafree and Leanne are on the Pan American Team this year.

I just saw your edit about not being completely truthful about the scandal...do you mean the people in USAG, the athletes or both?

I feel so awful for the team members. It's absurd they did this during a camp.

My worst nightmare is Alabama lets go of Duckworth next year, and then they hire Rhonda. I'm praying Rhonda will open her own gym or something like that. Just please don't come back to NCAA.

Val is the NCAA coach who told the athletes at camp to delete their remarks on social media about Faehn's firing (well, I think she told the coaches to tell the students). This is NOT a good look for Val. Someone who is standing up for these girls but silently trying to silence them. I am curious if she stays silent and rides this one out or if someone makes a fuss. So far she has gotten away with it because of who she is and she is well-liked. There is also a rumor that she told one of her recruits to take it down or they risked losing their scholarship. I don't believe it, for the record.

Edit: By the way, when I say I don't believe it I am referring to the rumor about her threatening a scholarship. The other part about her telling them to take down their social media posts is true and 100% confirmed.

Val is such a political hack. I can't attest to the scholarship rumor. She panders to specific groups all too often, sometimes she doesn't know when to shut up. Silencing some of these girls isn't correct and not a good look for sure
