I’m thinking Ballou is gonna be LSU bound unless something changes last minute. Too much smoke right now but you never know…

Booth would be lovely but the big guns are Ballou, Estep and Diaz. If they can land 1 or 2 of those that would be big. Still have some more visits upcoming and things in recruiting are always fluid

Is Nola still visiting? She has better form than Booth.

I was just watching a clip of some recent uneven bars by Aleah - and they are still doing that hard dismount, if full to double tuck is good enough for the Olympics, it should be good enough for us. That dismount is hard and inconsistent for her and there is almost always a step — though he made improvements in a lot of areas last year, that is one area where Jay really seems to still be digging his heels in

Bar dismounts have been a issue since Finnegan/Priessman graduated

You got to stick landings if you want the big scores In post season and they need to be of somewhat decent form

It’s straight up a clone factory. There’s zero diversity in the way their gymnasts’ faces look

Thats funny you say that because i thought she was OU bound a long time ago by the way she looked. Also there is really no diversity in all of their gymnastics period. I know they have won a bunch championships recently but the whole thing(program in general) is kind of lame to me. Throw in the judges think they can do no wrong. Im sure people will say its sour grapes but its really not. Maybe if I was a Florida fan.

For the most part OU routine are dam near identical and just pile on the points with high start values

People love to say our girls all look the same but at least we have multiple girls of color on the team and our girls do a variety of skills. Everytime I’ve seen OU compete, I feel like I watched the same routine with the same skills to the same song 6 times in a row because there is ZERO variety in their team’s skills or their look

Anyone else seeing the rumors about Kara leaving Utah? That would be a big loss for them.

Garrett has to know something with all the doughnut gifs he has been posting!! College Gym News is suggesting Nina, Charlotte and maybe one other recruit. Anticipation is high for LSU fans.

They don’t really do hard gymnastics, (except vault) they just do their skills really well. Jay could learn some pointers!

Not only would it be a huge loss for them but for the gymnastics community in general as viewers. I have always loved her artistry and if T0m F@rd3n has anything to do with why she’s potentially retiring from the sport, he’s going to pay big time

LSU Gym posted a tweet showing more of Dunne on beam. She has a triple series on beam (flic-flic-lay) and…..a switch half. I posted a reply about it and deleted it because it doesn’t matter what I say. Even from the angle I could see it was not going to hit a full split. Why do they keep doing these leaps if the girls can’t do them. Very few can. Keep them in if they are great at leaps. Use other leaps for those who struggle. There are options.

Edit: and hers is in combo so more likely to break connection and require a quick addition to the routine or risk losing out on her SV.

Haley Mustari was supposed to visit, so probably this weekend. She is really good on bars. Could make a case she is the best bar worker in this class.

Dunne has a very nice beam set but if they want that routine to succeed they cannot have a switch half in it, that would just derail her score no matter what else she does.

The only routines that you could probably succeed with a switch half would be Konnor and Kiya. I'm sure Aleah could as well but her leaps are already very nice in her current routine. And just because you can doesn't mean you should...

I know routines are still in development stages as things get finalized over the next couple months but they really need to be consciously thoughtful about these beam sets and what they put in it. The key at nationals is clean execution (no bobbles) and precise leaps at 180 splits. LSU got HAMMERED for the leaps in nationals so that has to be the primary focus. Throwing out switch halfs which are short are gonna get hit hard come post season so they really need to be careful. I know we have a lot of options this year so hopefully the additions of all these newcomers in addition to Kiya can help rejuvenate the beam lineup.
