Savannah Schoenherr is in the transfer portal; would love to get her for bars, and also her 1.5. Just not sure how her health is.

Her girlfriend is playing in Nova Scotia which is the other side of Canada from OSU

I am not sure any program is close enough to Nova Scotia to have that be an actual factor. I am also not sure if we would have a chance with her - but she could be a good help on vault and bars. We could get away with no fulls with her (if kiya came back and/or Garett prioritized the doubles with either or both of KJ and Bryce)

Ah well that’s okay. I was also kinda hinting that we may be a touch too conservative for her. It’s also why I think we would have a shot at sage if Jay wanted her.

Lucy Stanhope (also from Utah who has competed vault, beam and floor for them) just officially announced that she entered the transfer portal. I have - good feeling she will come to LSU since she was originally committed to Arkansas when G and Court were there, but changed her commitment to Utah when Tom hired them. Garrett is the coach who originally recruited her and she’s very familiar and comfortable with the Griffeths, as well as Cammy

There has to be mutual interest… while Lucy is a great athlete she doesn’t help us on our weaker events

She would give us another consistent beam routine we can count on to hit when needed (maybe even in the lead off spot with less built in deductions than Elena). She also gives us another guaranteed 10.0 SV Vault with her 1.5 and adds depth and consistency on floor (with still a high level of difficulty) so we wouldn’t need to compete Haleigh, Aleah and Kiya every week and give their bodies rest

The 5th years ARE NOT part of the original scholarships. The 5th year is not paid for by LSU UNLESS there is available scholarship in the 12 alloted.
So technically if 5th years want to take it, they must pay out of pocket, or find NIL money to help pay for all associated expenses. Unless all 12 slots are not filled.
