Yes it was absurd - I believe one judge even gave Riley a 10.

The heart and soul this team has shown this year is something else.
They just keep rising to the occasion and answering the bell.
Brock, Jeffrey and Ballard stepped up huge huge huge tonight.

Chio and Neff tie to win the Nastia Liukin Cup. Another LSU commit to win this over the years.
Big time

Haleigh's AA Score was higher than Trinity's and Sunisa's tonight. I am hoping she gets the SEC Gymnast of the Week.

I think Chase may have a shot at specialist of the week with a 9.975 and 9.925

Just popping in to to say Chase, YOU ARE THAT GIRL!
Really SO proud of every single one of them! I have seen so much growth both mentally and in their gymnastics over the course of the season. For them to show that fight and grit week in and week out after still losing people to injuries.. just a round of applause to them all, including this coaching staff.

Finally we saw Alexis on beam ! And she was really incredible! A few things to take but that form and poise need to be In the line up. She doesn’t have any built in deductions. I agree with earlier poster talking about how jay keeps line ups same unless their is an injury which is not ideal - if we excercise depth more throughout the season and change things up where we can it really will pay dividends. Look at chase really looking confident tonight and her opportunities only really came due to all the injuries we have had the season. Hope we can get Bryce back in on floor before season end

I can’t believe we had a 9.9 beam routine waiting in the wings while the coaches continued to put in Jay’s favorites.

I won't pretend to know what exactly transpires in training as that may obviously impact lineup decisions but LSU is seeing many kids thrive who never competed before now that they are getting experience in actual competition setting
Would love to see moving forward (not just this season but next) to continue to utilize the depth more to give key kids breaks (burnout is a thing) and to give a routine with more upside a shot in the lineups as they can develop into a big score long term for this team. Plus the variety in lineups increase competition in the gym and keeps everyone on their toes to go out and work harder to keep or earn a spot
This year with all the injuries is truly showcasing that LSU has lots of depth (more than Jay probably realizes) that can contribute in meaningful way.
We will have to wait until post season obviously but so far, this is a much more mentally tough team than previous teams recently IMO. They have faced adversity week after week and could easily throw in the towel but continue to hit routines and improve each week. Even with my criticism of use of depth at times and use gymnasts with higher upside, I think the coaches have done a good job this year.

I am just really proud of the increased mental toughness on beam. I think this is in large part due to Elena as the lead off and give the coaches credit for making that change. In addition, I am proud of the team last night - Kai was a bit off but the rest of the team just came through without letting that make them tight (and earlier in the season that was not the case). That shows real growth in my opinion.

Smart move by the coaches to move Elena to the lead off spot. Even with her flaws, she is such a steady rock across the board that you can always count on her to give you a steady hit routine.
I think it has taken so much pressure off the rest of the beam lineup and even Kai herself.

Can someone explain what it means to defer means. The be heard that for 2 of the girls in the 2023 class. Konnor and miller. Are they just joining the 2024 class after the Olympics are over?
Posted on 2/25/23 at 2:16 pm to Tigerbait357
LSU recruits cleaning up this weekend. Won the Nastia and the Winter Cup.
Posted on 2/25/23 at 2:22 pm to Biggmatt78
They are coming a year later because they want to attempt to make the Olympic team (2024)
Zeiss won winter cup. Of the 5 individual champions (4 events and AA), 3 are LSU commits (Zoe Miller-Bars, Kaliya Lincoln-Floor and Zeiss-AA).

2024 class looking dominate than. Add Konnor to that list and that’s a while all around lineup

This should move us to 197.575 NQS That should move us to number 6 ahead of Auburn and Cal possibly even UCLA depending on their Sunday score ..
