Oh wow.. AJ possible AA! We are all going to be holding our breath with that floor lineup, but I’m so excited to see some routines we haven’t seen. The only thing I don’t understand is where is Tori’s vault? She must still be inconsistent, but the times I’ve seen it, she’s landed it and it’s a great vault.

Honestly, it’s really a positive thing to see new faces! Let them get experience. They will never know what they will do unless they are put out there to compete. I don’t believe in the ease the freshman in philosophy

I agree. It is good to see new faces in the lineups. The LSU naysayers are at work on social media and having a hay day with our injuries. Reddit is the worst of all with putting blame on Jay for using Aleah and Haleigh every meet. There is no reasoning with these people even though some posters try to show them logic. I'm hoping our girls knock it out of the park and prove them wrong. It will be good to see Alexis on beam, and floor. I hope she scores well and we see more of her going forward.

I am very excited to see Alexis on beam. I imagine it must be her consistency in the gym that has lead to missing lineups. Her form should be impeccable - like Aleah and Leanne Wong. If she can be consistent, my sense is that she is part of our beam team ceiling.

As unfortunate as these injuries are, I wonder if it will force Jay away from his kind of "old school" coaching philosophy of just always keeping lineups the same and not giving anyone changes, unless absolutely forced to. That would be something good to come out of all this. Case in point, in his press conference he mentioned Livvy having to earn her spot in bars, because who is he goign to take out? The answer, of course is Arenas or Alyona, and its not even close to an outside observer. However, because those two "have been getting it done" all year, he doesn't want to take them out. However, if Livvy can hit her routine, her ceiling is probably higher than either of them given the problems Elena has with her pak and Alyona's extreme dismount issues. And I love Elena's consistency within the lineups, but at some point, we have to try to improve the score.

Also, to the poster who was talking about Selena Harris, we all know that if Selena Harris had come, Jay wouldn't have used her because she was a freshman, lol. So don't feel too bad - even if she had come here, she would not have replicated her success here as she has at UCLA.

I agree with all this. Glass 1/2 full here and I’m excited to see what the other girls can do. We all know this is not our year so get all the experience in you can. Make the whole rest of this season an exhibition of sorts. I feel like alyona will be back next year, not sure on kiya, but i doubt Kai. I also feel like he doesn’t need to push alyona if she has a groin injury. Wait at least a week and put Tori in vault , and Cowan in bars. Just let stuff fly the rest of the year. Hell maybe put Annie on beam at some point. You’re never going to know what the girls can do until you put the metal to the fire.

Given that ani only just started fully back on the equipment, I don’t think we’re gonna see her in any lineups until next year at the earliest. As for the fifth years, I think that Kiya will come back. Somebody on Twitter a couple of weeks ago just before Kiya’s surgery had said that even with a full rupture, overtime, the Achilles eventually fully repairs itself on its own. If Kiya had no plans of coming back next year or potentially coming back next year and already completely closed the door, she wouldn’t have gotten the surgery, but getting surgery allows her to have the opportunity to come back next year if she wants to. I’m not sure about Alyona or Kai though. It sounds like Cammy is coming back next year as well based on her GOLD episode she did. The other three are up in the air as well.

As for Alexis on beam and floor, I’m super excited to see her on beam given the way she looked at me at the Bruins back in 2021 for the 2022 season. And I think a lot of people might be forgetting how accomplished she truly is/was as a gymnast at the elite and level 10 level before she came to college and the fact that she trained with Leanne and Aleah for so many years, I have no doubt that she’s going to put together a solid, clean floor set, even if it’s not the highest of difficulty routines like Aleah‘s routine, I can count on it at least being incredibly polished.

Are we really expecting to see Alexis on beam and floor when there’s been no evidence of her training either? Has anyone seen her at practices or warm ups at meet on beam or floor?

I would be very excited to see her on those events, especially beam. Having Alexis, Chase and Elena back to back to back on floor makes me nervous but I guess we don’t have any other options at this point.

She trains multiple events outside of bars. I’ve seen her train beam in the fall but haven’t seen her floor routine.

That floor rotation makes me a bit nervous but hopefully everyone gets through without counting a fall. Best you can kind of hope for when you are slamming so many routines in that you don’t count on usually

I was somewhat expecting Bryce to compete much more than she has this year but ever since that one beam fall it’s been crickets since then up until now. She needs to compete and get out there again. Only way she will develop and get confidence.

unsure. If Bryce is ready, I am kinda expecting him to throw her into the fire where she does beam, floor and vault.

She did those 3 in the december 101 showcase.

Dangit! She had become a crucial piece, especially if she kept delivering a nice beam routine (best beam mount ever). The wifey is going to be really upset. Her vault and floor were starting to become a lock for a solid score.

STARTING TO?!?! After last year, she proved that they already were a lock for a solid score for this season. At least my opinion

Hoping we are able to hit 24/24 routines (regardless of the final score) tonight and take advantage of our exhibition routines since we’re on SEC+

That is a fair point.

I was more so thinking of:
1. Ashley/Livvy on bars (whoever doesn’t make the lineup tonight to give them another full competition routine even if it doesn’t count towards the team score)
2. Bryce/Jeffery on beam and floor (whoever doesn’t end up in the lineup for the same reasons as bars, while also allowing them to build their confidence)

Yeh for sure agree on bars; I think, though based on Jay’s press conference both KJ and Alyona will be out on beam and floor - so I think that they will both be in on floor out of necessity (and maybe beam - I know sierra is an option but at this point I’d rather see what the two of them can do, because unfortunately Sierra’s leap form is going to be limiting)

Though of course this analysis changes if Alyona is somehow in for those two.

If Cowan isn’t in the bars lineup later then they need to let her exhibition on bars

Any type of opportunity to get to go out and compete in front of a live crowd will benefit her down the road

Not wanting to be mean but what is with Jenny wearing these ugly 80’s jackets all of the sudden? She used to dress so much better, what happened?

ETA: does anyone else feel like Rachel Bauman just didn’t fit in at fla?
