Still could have locked him up last week, but we've got a couple retards running the show. Now we're gonna have to work for it.
Do you think we have any realistic shot at getting this guy now? He'd have to like the shite out of LSU to commit after being turned away by our OC once already.

Understandable, but I really hope he sticks. A&M uses their TEs even less than we do and Texas has actually managed to have less an offensive identity than us.

I wouldn't blame him if be didn't want to come to LSU...we don't us TE's of his style properly like we should. With that being said I absolutely want him...I hope we can keep him on board.

I don't understand why LSU does not land the best blocking TE's and Fullbacks every year. We are one of the only big name schools that runs the power I consistently.. With how many schools don't even use a TE or FB anymore we should have 3 or 4 Dillon Gordon's or JD Moore's because its a position where injuries always happen. We should have been deeper this year with FB's and TE's. Colin Jeter is a joke of a blocker.

You don't?
It's simple really.
It's because...because...well...hell...me neither!

Because people want to CATCH the ball not block all the time

If I'm not mistaken I believe we Hanner Shipley was recruited for more of a blocking role than passing threat but he decided to bail.
I'm hoping that Gordon wins his appeal for a medical redshirt and Ducre can earn his keep playing a role as JDM backup and future starter. Move Mouton to tight end (his position in high school) for more blocking plays and Gordons potential back up for when he graduates.
Jeter has the height and hands but his blocking was very suspect when Gordon went out.

what teams really throw to the tight end any more.. even in a&m's pass happy offense they throw to the receivers exclusively it seems..
why not go to LSU where you will at least get exposure
A&M:
Jordan Davis (starter) has 2 reception. I repeat... 2 RECEPTIONS..
the backup Smith, has 1 reception. I repeat.. 1 reception..
KYLE ALLEN has more receiving yards than BOTH of those tight ends COMBINED..
I am so sick of LSU fans that can't ever look outside of LSU.. It's like only LSU has problems.. and no one else does.. and it's only bad at LSU.. etc..
I think I would MUCH rather come to LSU where I could be a feature tight end, and if not I will at least exposure in the blocking game.. even if I don't want to block.. I'm still going to get more exposure at LSU..

I could be wrong, but I see 2 tight ends there..
and they have a whopping 3 receptions total from tight ends..
Really? And they throw the ball like crazy..

H. Shipley was, and that late bail out hurt us too. If Les is so hell-bent on running out of double tight sets (Although, I wish he wouldn't be, but that's another issue altogether), he needs to invest in more of those TE/OT types.
