Ok, have to be very old (like me) but in 1983 (I think) there was a top WR who verbally committed to us and said we would beat Tulane 4 years in a row (think he was from NO), he ended up signing with Tulane and we beat them next 4 years.

I also think we got Toby Caston because of this. Anyone recall this and his name and did the WR end up being good? Thanks from one old guy to another.

Was it Zeno
Can't remember first name
He was probably their best receiver during the time he was there

Only Tulane WR I knew was Reggie Reginelli. He killed us.

Reggie Reginelli was a RB.

Marc Zeno was the WR at Tulane with QB Terrance Jones when Mack Brown was the coach no idea if that’s who the OP was referencing.

ETA I see it was Vaughn

Tyrone Vaughn from John Ehret. Remember watching a playoff game between John Ehret w/ Tyrone Vaughn and Tyrone Mitchell vs West Jefferson w/ Garry James … 46-45 , incredible game!

Roydell Williams from East St.John did similar thing in I believe 2001. Rumor was he received a white corvette from the weenies

Pretty sure T Vaughn played on those early 80’s Ehret teams with QB Leonard Valentine (transferred) and CB Norman Jefferson. Those teams crushed everyone. Jefferson was Mr Irrelevant and scored LSU’s only points in the 85 Liberty Bowl humiliation vs. Baylor. To save $$, AD Broadhead let the players drive their own vehicles to Memphis. What a clustrFk that was. I knew several players who confirmed they drank and smoked weed on the entire drive

thought this was Arnsbarger's idea, he hated bowls as shown by the 3 times we got ROUTED when he was coach, won a lot in regular season...
