Question about Speedy Noil's Recruitment

I haven't been following recruiting much over the past few years -- for people that followed his recruitment -- any idea what the main factors were for him not choosing LSU?
Specifically, did he have any trepidation about how he would be utilized in LSU's offense?

He was the #3 WR on our board.

I think you could call Speedy and Trey Quinn 2a and 2b.

I was under the impression he was related to Frank Wilson? Anyone have the correct answer? Someone on the rant said he was Wilson's God Son.

He wasted to go to a more pass happy system. I don't blame him.

Anybody that doesnt understand why kids want to go to A&M dont understand A&M or kids.
Theyve got balling facilities. A young hip coach. They just had the most pop culturey player that college football has seen in a while. Their offense is entertaining. If it wasnt for the fake boy scout aspect of the school, A&M would gain the status with young athletes that da U used to have IMO.

It started with LSU not taking Noel Ellis, and instead took Logan Stokes.
Didn't take Ellis, Ellis goes to A&M, Ellis family close to Speedy, Speedy is close with Gerald Willis.
Some are going to bash me, but there was a trickle down effect from not taking Ellis.

I think he saw with Dupre and Quinn coming in he wouldn't get the looks he gets at aTm. Plus the WRs at aTm were a little bit overrated (looking at Ricky Seals-Jones). Speedy has 40 catches at aTm this year, he'd be lucky to have half that this year at LSU.

the poster is correct. this all started with ellis. ellis at aTm and recruiting speedy is what got him there. they still had to do a good job recruiting him and they did. it also didn't help LSU that willis has a brother at bama that hates LSU. thus, all the players that were close to speedy didn't like LSU. on top of that his hs coach, who loved LSU, got a college coaching job and was not there to keep things straight.

In addition to Ellis, and aTm's wide open offense, he didn't want to go to "Fournette University." It was no secret LF was the #1 priority, and Speedy felt like that should have been him. To aTm's credit, they took that and ran with it like they should have.
