Bama has perfected the payoff. They just don't payoff the kid\parent. They payoff the Aunt, Uncle, sibling etc. It's much cheaper to pay off everyone associated then to risk someone around the kid becoming unhappy, becoming a rat, or poisoning the athlete against the school.

This is exactly what happened in the Albert Means case. They not only learned from it, but have mastered it.

Question about recruiting and "bag men"
NCAA hears what it wants to hear on who it does or does not want to hear it on.

[/quote the NCAA lacks sub phoena power , therefore they can never put anyone on the stand, & force them to give testimony under oath .That's how it works.

. Cam signed and then shockingly he shows up to school with a used "I think it was a Humvee, could be wrong can't remember exactly"

Cam showed up to school 1 week PRIOR to NSD with a new lifted Silverado with Iron front and back bumpers and mud grapplers.

It happens daily. It’s not just the bag man with cash. It’s companies providing jobs to family members in new college towns. Renting houses to momma in Tuscaloosa for almost nothing. There are many things that go on in every college town and if you’re not trying to do it then you aren’t getting the recruit.

A few years back I was in the recruiting game. We did a website, magazine, podcast and tv show.

We got to talk to lots of recruits/families/coaches and some were very upfront about the recruiting process.

Among the highlights:

Rueben Foster's mom telling me Rueben switched from Bama to Auburn because it was a business decision. He eventually went back to Bama.

Our film all called Jeryl Brazil first time we met him. We filmed him playing corner against a wide receiver who probably never even started for Loranger. Brazil looked laughably bad and he was a prick.

A 2star high school qb(don't remember his name)) told us how his church gave him a $10,000/year renewable scholly after he committed to the Gamecocks. His best friend just happened to be Marcus Lattimore.

A lot of talent, from Memphis, goes untapped because of how dirty the high school coaches are. The elite kids still get recruited, but the city as a whole is largely ignored by the bigger schools.

John Wall's handlers were given $250,000 to attend Kentucky. DeMarcus Cousins got a $100,000 and an SUV.

Xavier Henry committed to Kansas on a promise his family would get a house. Bill Self balked so Henry decided to take a recruiting trip to Kentucky. Self flew to Oklahoma and got it straightened out by presenting papers of the families new home in Lawrence.

There are many others I wont share because they involve LSU players and/or recruits.

The recruits comments about Rivals, Scout and 247 were surprising as well. Basically they all admit they just toy with the recruiting sites. That's why I never put any stock into what those guys tell us. For the most part, the recruiting sites are only giving educated guesses by connecting the dots.

I will say the recruits really like Jimmy a lot.
