Hey brother who are the "bigger fish" and again what do you base your recruiting on? and have you seen Prescott or Rivers play in person, or anyone.

For the record, LSU made a call to Haughton after his verbal to MSU and found that Prescott was strong to MSU.

You really have no idea of what you don't know.

Alright Listen well ....

1. I watched both Rivers and Prescott at LSU's summer camp. Neither I repeat NEITHER looked like an SEC QB at the time.

2. Prescott didn't receive an offer... Rivers did. Who do you think the coaches liked more? Also it wasn't Prescott's first time at camp. It was however Rivers's first time performing for the LSU staff.

3. Rivers's team lost all their talent at the skill positions last year. almost all his Int's this year have been from passes hitting WR's in the hands and they send it flying where a DB picks it off.

4. Rivers threw 4 possible TD's the other night.... Everyone of them was dropped. He never gave up and kept on fighting even though he had little to no help all night.

5. Coaches usually call to find out about an instate prospect(if they were recruiting them at all) committing to another school and wish them the best.

6. Good luck to Prescott at MSU or where ever, but being the number 1 QB in LA this year means next to nothing.

LSU always calls in-state players who commit to another school just to see how strong things are.

Brissett
Cardale
Teddy
Mettenberger

I'm not saying Dak is awful, but the only way he could be a college QB is the system at MSU. If he went anywhere else he would be like Paul Turner, and have to be a WR or CB.

Also, I do a lot of scouting stuff, so I see a ton of game film, if I can make it out to a game with a number of prospects

I read well...

So do I assume that Rivers is the bigger fish?

I hope he is because we obviouly need a good QB.

I've never compared either players, nor have I seen either in a camp. I have seen Prescott play many times and he is better than you want to give him based on your camp analysis.

You see Lee and Jefferson at practice. Are they SEC caliber?

So? Mallett is 6'7

Looks more like a TE prospect than a QB prospect.

BTW, the best high school QB in Louisiana plays in north Louisana and it is not at Haughton.

Well My point is Prescott had multiple times to impress LSU Scouts .... he did not. Rivers's impressed just a little more than prescott.

Rivers is one of the bigger fish Mettenberger being the biggest though, fwiw and if a 3rd QB out of Brissett, Jones, or dare I say Bridgewater want aboard, they take them according to the staff. So we are looking at a two possibly 3 QB recruiting class.

Alright...

you never see the careless mistakes by both QB/WR's in practice that we see in the games. Drops , and poor passes are no where to be seen.

I think the problem is more psychological than the people realize. JJ is a great and talented player, but he lets EVERYTHING get to him.

Oh, what I would give to never see another Prescott themed thread. It gets so old seeing MSU fans waving around their hard-ons for this kid. Do you really WANT LSU to go after this guy harder? Even if he is as solid to MSU as he (and everyone around him says). Geez. Give him a break.

And don't forget that Rivers was the #1 QB on MSU's board until he blew off our camp during the summer. Then, and only then, did the staff turn 100% attention to Prescott. He could very well be the most badass QB ever to wear maroon and white, but don't act like we passed on Rivers to get to him.

And for the record, stats from last night's game:

Haughton, La. (6-0) 42, Fair Park, La. 6 - Haughton qb Dak Prescott completed 13-of-19 for 186 yards with four touchdowns, also rushed three times for 63 yards and one touchdown, season stats: Completed 68-of-107 for 1,120 yards and 20 touchdowns and two interceptions, has rushed 48 times for 514 yards and eight touchdowns.

And CJ Johnson WILL be a Bulldog. Forget about it Tigahs. Sadly, he could very well be our starting MLB next year.

DAK has another big game last night and accounts for 5 TDs

Yes the Haughton defense shut him down; but OL wasn't helping him. Minden has a 6' 7" receiver that got very few looks, as Leppart was on his back most of the game. Leppart is good, but he isn't near as mobile or an punishing rusher as Number 6. Prescott only played a little over a half. With some help Leppart would be a force, as he definately has talent.

Of Prescotts stats last night, only two of his incompletions were'nt drops right into the hands of the reciever.

Prescott only playing a half to one to two series in the 3rd.

Honestly, this doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Not sure I like the staffs evaluation or development of QB's. Watching film, looks like Prescott will have a chance to contribute much more quickly in the right offense.

As of lately. That ain't saying much since Perrillous. If LA produced great abundant quality OL/QB's LSU would be unstoppable.
