Entered the portal from Oregon.

Listed at 6'3" 290 and originally out of Judson, TX
Was just a true freshman, played in 3 games, then redshirted. Bowens is entering his redshirt freshman season with four years of eligibility remaining. Not ideal, but someone Bo can mold.

He should be an absolute take right now. He would also help build the DT room back up for years to come.

No idea, but they need to get at least 2-3 for us to at least build depth because we arent getting a game changer this late in the game imo. Oregon has another DL Ben Roberts that entered but he's from Utah but believe he is a bit older.

He is a take and we can count him for 2023 class where we took 0 DT, and he redshirted, so he has 4 years left. Build depth, then hopefully we get the Mich. State baw, which would give us 3 portal DT, maybe a 4th in the ULM kid.

Agreed. LSU is not at a point to look for a 1 season quick fix. A 2nd or 3rd year player with the ability to return and establish true depth is what LSU needs to bridge them to 2026. If they get a 1 year player, they will be in the same boat again next year.

I'm sure BK is scouting every DT available right now. If the Texas kid has a skill set that is P5 level then I'm sure we would want to talk to him.

What happens to the locker room when it finds out that other schools are paying more? It is not a secret that other schools are paying more.
Granted you don't have guys hating the over paid guy in the locker room, but theres a chance that the locker room will lose 5 guys with NIL aspirations. That's a definite locker room cancer.
How is the locker room going to feel after a game of getting run up on and the LBs pissed off that they are getting leveled at the second level?

My concern is that his name hasn't shown up with us at all.
He seemed like a good option from the get go so I'd be surprised if we didn't reach out early on.

Him and the ULM guy are the guys we need for the future. It sucks to lose out on starters in the portal, but we 100% need to build this room up for the future.
