If you are offering advice and speaking as in a public forum you should use correct English. The problem with many of you young people is that you have been allowed to speak in slaughtered English even in school and therefore it translates in everything you do.

If this guy showed up for a job interview and spoke the way he does on that video he would be laughed at. Like it or not, the way one speaks and the use of proper syntax projects your level of education and intelligence.

If you disagree, fine. However, if you typed out his words using his level of language skills and could see it in print it would be obvious just how badly his use of English actually is.

Have a great day.

And nobody needs to speak like an illiterate and be held up as someone of intelligence with advice to the masses.
The guy sounds like an idiot.

Point is, you know nothing about me, yet you say “you people are miserable” and “keep your bullshite on the poli board”. You brought up speaking like a suburban white kid or a hick, not me. Who are you calling “you people”, tuff guy?

STRIPES, thank you for white-splaining that a decently successful rapper, who is literally a paid speaker, would have a hard time getting a job in a bank using his “urban” register. Will your next lesson be about how Quinton Tarantino shouldn’t use so many curse words because he’d never be able to get a job at a Cingular kiosk in the mall? Or, maybe you could impress upon us that dying our hair in an unnatural color might make it difficult to find a church youth group who’ll accept us?

Don’t be such a warrior for political correctness.

From the OP:

Don’t get your panties in a wad just because I called out your needless diatribe about a black rapper’s use of syntax when addressing high school football recruits, many of whom are also black, for being completely slanted. Context matters, and railing on poor use of the Queen’s English by a black rapper’s address to “young people” in “slaughtered English” is something that could only ever be interpreted as being directed solely at black people. While you may think you were only arguing against his syntax, what you were actually railing against was his dialect, which you further reinforced by citing “ebonics” in your ham-fisted reply.

But don’t let me stop you in your political correctness campaign against black speech.

Don't get your snowflake feelings hurt because I told you not to put words in my mouth.

The dude you want to hold up as some sort of authority sounds illiterate. It is that simple. I really don't give a damn whether you like it or not.
