With Isaac in the fold for 2011, does Trent Johnson take Langston Galloway and Brian Williams if possible for next year?
If he signs a JUCO shooting guard this year, along with the already signed Aaron Dotson, I think neither Galloway nor Williams are must-have recruits (although I would like to have one of them).
Or does Isaac keep growing into a small forward and this is a moot point?

There's no list, but the above linked ESPN blurb predicts he will be a Top 50 player.

According to the link, he was evaluated in June '08 and he was 6'-2" and now he is listed at 6'-4". He might be 6'-8" by the time he gets here at that pace.

This is a comment I found about Isaac after he played in a camp at La. Tech last summer
quote:
SG John Isaac, New Llano (La.) Pickering (2011 class)
Of all of the players in the camp, the strong-bodied wing was the best looking long-term college prospect of the bunch. The class of 2011 guard got better as the camp went along, using his great natural strength, athleticism and confidence to overpower defenders en route to the basket. Isaac has a high-major frame and a game that translates well at that level. He is a confident ball-handler who loves to do his best work at the basket by slashing with power. His perimeter shot will be the difference maker in his development. Isaac said his recruitment is in its infancy and doesn't know who is involved. The high-majors most certainly will be when all is said and done.

This is great to hear. I have watched him since he played Little Dribblers at Pickering. He has been a Varsity starter since the 8th grade. He can take anyone to the hoop and has very good ball handling skills. Very cool headed, has been guarded very roughly this year and has kept his cool. If this happens he will be the first from Pickering to be a TIGER. GO BIG RED! GO TIGERS!
Posted on 3/9/09 at 11:20 pm to Hookin Bull
I read somewhere that he is 6'4 now but has a 16 1/2 size shoe and will most likely get up to at least 6'6.

It's a little far fetched to be projecting junior high players before they even play one year of high school. It is interesting that so many Louisiana players are highly ranked. It will be interesting to see how many of them mainatin their lofty positions given the recruiting services penchant to downgrade Louisiana prospects. Granted most years Louisian has a top 20-25 player, but the next ranked player is usually about 75 or below , then there is the usual one or two in the 130-150 range.

Not really. First of all he has not offered any of them nor do we know they will sign with LSU.
If those New Orleans players develop as well as thehy are projected no one wants Trent to break through the New Orleans firewall more than I do.
Remember Tasmin Mitchell was the number one rated played in eigth and ninth grade and barely ended up in the Top 20. Magnum Rolle even rated higher as a senior. Of course if Taz had signed with Kentucky he would have immediately jumped back into the Top 10, maybe Top 5.

You hear it from me first:
If a mediocre HC like JB can recruit at LSU, then TJ can do 10 times better.
LSU is the flagship school in the state. We don't have another big program to compete with, ie Alabama has Auburn, UGA has GT and so on... We can almost cherry pick the top players in LA every year and be competitive in March yearly, not 1 good yrs then 3-4 bad yrs like the previous staff. And that was why JB is at ASU right now and just completed the season with 10 straight losses.
How did JB last at LSU for 10+ yrs ???

JB had 2 good yrs out of 11 yrs (Thanked to GT and his AAU team). Had a career losing record in the SEC. Got blowed out all 4 times by double digits in the NCAA tourney as a favorite team)

Don't get around much do you? Pickering has put out quite a few quality athletes. D'Anthony Smith, All-WAC DT at La. Tech is from Pickering High.

Langston Galloway goes to Christian Life, 1A. Glen Davis and Garrett Temple went to U-High, 2A.
Ludwig and Derenbecker play 1A and Country Day.
What exactly is your point? It's basketball, these kids are rated according to their AAU performances more than anything.

As reported by TSD. Good job by Sonny on the story. A 6-4, 215-pound itty-bitty small forward for the Class of 2011.

WTF. The guy's a sophomore in high school.
Posted on 3/10/09 at 10:17 am to Bubba Hotep
Why do we keep referring to him as a small forward when every thing I read of the guy is that he's a 2011 6'4" guy that can handle the ball very well and take it to the hole at will. Sounds like a combo 2 guard to me. And as everyone else has stated, he's a sophomore in high school right now. Don't know about anyone else but I grew after that.
Posted on 3/10/09 at 11:39 am to Tiger Authority
Nobody knows what position he'll play in college. He is very versatile.
