With Phillips being a top 3 ILB in the major recruiting services and Moses being listed as a top "athlete", did we get the better player to fill our most pressing need?

Is this similar to landing Jamal Adams when we lost Hootie Jones to Bama?

I really know very little about Moses. Is Moses simply an incredible athlete with size and speed who may not turn out to be as effective as Phillips playing ILB?

This is great. I'm very happy we've secured a commitment from Phillips.

Phillips will be great on the field, Moses will be great at the combine. The tape says that Phillips is a better football player then Moses, but moses has the athletic traits.

The main difference is Phillips didn't troll his home state school repeatedly as a big old "frick you" to them before going OOS.

I suppose you can argue that right now Moses is an all around better athlete, but Phillips is a better "football player." The two aren't always one in the same.

Maybe it is just a byproduct of so many years of hype (maybe too much hype), but even watching Moses before he committed to Bama I recall thinking "Maybe it's just me, but this guy isn't exactly exploding off the screen like I expected him to." Again though, that could just be a byproduct of unfair expectations.

The fist time I watched Phillips though I thought "Man, that guy looks the part! I think he would be a really big get for LSU."

Kid shouldn't even be a 5*. He's a great athlete, but he is not a great football football player.

Watching the film, they're very different. Moses is a step slow to diagnose a play and react but is a superior athlete. Phillips is extremely fundamentally sound, plays with great body control (even looks good in coverage), but is not particularly fast. If you have to choose one to play early... give me Phillips.

From what I've heard Moses is the better athlete, more skilled I guess, but Phillips is the better linebacker.
