That’s not unconditional. The additional spots don’t have to be used on transfers, but they only apply if you have (or force) up to 7 players into the transfer portal.
Have you guys lost 7 players to the portal since the semester ended? If not, then you can’t take 32. At least you can’t unless that many leave before NSD.

It should be noted that it’s possible that guys sign as walk ons without scholarship and sign NIL deals to cover the price of tuition. They don’t care where the money comes from.

I see Perkins at A&M and Mathews at LSU. With Baker gone that removes the primary recruiter for Perkins, who he said he liked. Unless the new LB coach can really really impress in a short period of time, Perkins goes elsewhere.

Didn't A&M lose their linebacker coach, too? Was Elko not the primary recruiter for Perkins?
Edit: nevermind I see Tyler Santucci is their LB coach and Perkins' primary recruiter. For some reason I thought Elko coached their linebackers.
