This seems unlikely given that Noah Cain, his teammate, is reportedly high on our board. But, this could have a Hootie for Jamal feel to it if this happens.

Trey Sanders Taking John Emery's Spot?

Thought he was all but committed to Bama? Probably a tactic by Saban to keep us from getting Cain too.

Just saw the article. Seems to good to be true, but if it is that would be great. I think Emery is better than him though.

This whole RB recruiting situation is making me very uneasy. I don't want us chasing a RB that unlikely won't ink with us on signing day. The bird in the hand scenario looks to be unfolding.

If Cain wants in, pull the trigger.

I don't think it's too crazy to think he sees the opportunity at LSU.

Agreed.

Leverage, actively, the Spivey offer and the early signing period.

I'm NOT talking about pulling offers here. I'm talking about a little bluster, a little negotiating.

I'll give an example of a possible route using last year:
Tell Surtain if he doesn't give a verbal commit before the Dec signing period that we would accept a Goodrich signing. He verbals, then spot is held.

Not that Goodrich would have signed. It's leverage just short of an ultimatum creating the (likely fictitious) event of someone beats him to the X.

Can do the same here, maybe. Tell Cain that if Spivey wants to sign in Dec, we will let him unless he's decided and committed. Of course he's welcome to do the same. This is based on Spivey (or Sanders) being pretty damn good themselves.

Sanders is very good. Exceptional balance after contact.

Absolutely as good a prospect as Emery.

Staff probably told him that he could not commit yet, so he stuck with Arkansas. All part of the RB merry-go-round this cycle. It's all good. LSU will still end up with Emery, Cain, or Sanders as the second RB in this class.

I posted last week we need to get Kardell, who has been working to get Cain on board, to help push for that verbal. It does 2 things, we get an elite RB and Kardell can put any rumors of a shaky commit to bed.

Kardell started the "rumors" by that stupid tweet. As I said then, guys hes been begging to commit here, have now pulled back to a wait and see position because Kardell waivered.

I just watched his film and he's a solid looking kid. He has decent vision, good balance and breaks tackles. He looks to have good speed. Maybe not high end, but in the SEC you aren't breaking off many 60-70 yard runs vs the top SEC teams.

He has 4230 yards (9.44 ypc) through his JR season with 70 rushing TDs in Texas 6A. He's a mid 4 star. Nice looking prospect. He's also an academic all-star so no eligibility issues.

You're from Richardson. I lived there years ago before Dallas swallowed Richardson/Plano up. I lived 5-6 houses down from Staubach when he was still playing.
