but if this is true, let's assume the coaching staff didn't tell randle this in the last 48 hours. if that's the case, then why take the visit? i highly highly doubt the coaches haven't talked about playing time since day 1 with the kid, especially since playing time right away is a big deal with him, and it's not as if everyone hasn't known about Benton. it'd be a different deal if Randle was saying they told him one thing and Kelly another, but they knew about Benton hopefully coming in since the beginning. it's not as if Randle hasn't been to LSU numerous times on visits. why go on the visit if you honestly believe you're being lied to? they are trying to soften the blow.

given that there is really no way to know if Benton will ever play...wish him good luck and tell him to be on his way. On the other hand, I don't want any recruit (or family) trying to strongarm the coaching staff.

Assuming the reports here on what the father said are accurate, my opinions have already been formed; if Randle chooses LSU, fine, welcome aboard - but if he goes elsewhere, good ridiance, as this move by the dad is rather classless. Either way, my 'care factor' is steady dropping.

For a kid that from day 1 has never given any info that would lead anybody to believe he was better than a 60/40 chance at best, why is everyone so chicken little about this? I mean, who kinda didn't see this coming, or not coming for that matter? this is why people that said he was a "LSU lock" the whole time always looked like idiots to me.

LSU didn't lie to him, its just trying to take heat off of his family. Reuben wasn't going to LSU from the start, and even I was in belief that he was.
