Tifwiw but i've been told many times by the same people that if we want Metoyer he's ours. The question is and always has been do we really want him?The same people tell me that it doesn't look like we are really trying to get him.I believe that he's a lot lower on our list than some others.I'm not a guy huge on sources and am generally am very cautious about saying a kid is ours if their from OOS but these people are very close to the inner workings of Metoyer and they have said repeatedly that if LSU takes a commiment from him then he's ours.FWIW the same people have thought that he was OU bound but Ole Miss put a new wrinkle in the situation.

I can agree with this.

We think that he says, "Boomer Sooner" Friday. However, I've thought that LSU is the biggest threat to us; now and in the future.

t's gonna be Ole Miss for now just judging by how much he enjoyed that visit down there

We think OU, and confidently...for now.

His recruitment will continue until February of next year. Whoever he verbals to in a few days should not feel any comfort.

That might just be true. Trey and his dad like OU, LSU, and Ole Miss a lot.

Just said in a Scout OU Insider interview that he would be visiting LSU on the 20th or the 27th(Spring Game/Junior Day)

That was a few days ago. See smoaky.com. David Smoaky is talking directly to the Metoyers.

Probably pretty low.

He is reported to be making his decision this Friday at noon. Looks to be between OU and Ole Miss.

what is mccuiston saying?

Josh is not saying much anymore. David Smoaky is the source of info, and it's hard to know what's what just yet.

We thought he was going to commit last weekend, but he visited Ole Miss instead. It seems that he likes Ole Miss and I'm thinking that once he visits LSU he'll like the Tigers too.

Could end up being a battle between several teams and OU. Possibly not. Trey and his dad have been quoted recently saying that they love OU and that OU is the perfect fit.

I think LSU is a big player for Trey's services because he has family in La.

His dad is starting to handle a lot of Trey's recruiting and it's starting to change complexion.

There's a lot of new, weird stuff going on with Trey's recruitment; stuff that's false.

He was supposed to visit OU this past weekend, but didn't come. Instead, he visited Ole Miss.

We're not sure what to think about it. Sounds like he had a ride to Ole Miss, but not to Norman; even though he told our guy Thursday night that he was going to be at OU.

We were expecting him to commit to OU this weekend.

UT let him go and he didn't like that.

He's the one who broke off contact with Texas after the nametag fiasco earlier this year, just as he was the one who contacted the Texas coaches last week about coming in for an official.

Don't know where he's going to go at this point but OU getting beat by Okie Lite to fall to .500 yet again this season would not help things out any, especially after the laugher that was last Saturday.

Hasn't bothered any of our other recruits. They realize how many important players have been injured this season.
UT worries me a little bit, but many on the OU side are still confident. He didn't commit to UT last weekend and he will be visiting with his cousin (a big deal to him) this weekend at Norman.

I wish White would hurry up and commit to UT. He is really starting to piss me and Mack Brown off.

Unless it was OU that contacted Davis...any chance of that? They are usually all over the DFW area. Perhaps they got the vibe that White was leaning away from them?

OU hasn't contacted Davis. Stoops and co. let him go a while ago.

And White's cousin just told us that White won't likely make a decision until signing day, and that they both will be there for our game this weekend against OSU.

I don't think White will go to UT. He realizes that he has more opportunity at OU along with playing with his cousin, and a long-standing relationship with him. UT let him go and he didn't like that. However, he always was a fan of UT.

The UT board also claims that an OU commit is decomiting, which isn't true.

It might be a retaliation on us because an OU fan made a Connor Wood thread about him decommiting. They didn't like it.

I think this seals the deal with White. If Texas offered Favors we would have picked them both up on JR. day. I trust in Mack you don't offer 1 guy just to get another.

True. Perhaps UT didn't need a MLB. However, OU does need one.

I'm not quite sure what happened with Darius. He loved UT, not he roll his eyes when you ask him about them.

We'll take him. Just a matter of time.

re: malcolm brown

OU is definitely going after Brown. Having his teammate Sheldon McClain on board helps us out.

I think OU will go after Brown hard because Finch and Clay aren't power backs.

The only other power back we'll have is Calhoun.

We've got our D line coach recruiting him. When Shipp gets his eyes on someone he usually does well.

re: What About Cobbs?

Posted by iopsychOU on 8/17/09 at 7:49 pm to
OU hasn't backed off. He's really raw as a WR. He plays QB for his school in Tulsa.

But, he isn't that fast and has to work on his route running and catching ability.

Now that we have Justin McCay, Cobbs knows that if he waits this out, he won't have a scholly left at OU. Not when OU is the leader for Kenny Stills and Darius White.

Actually it's none of the above he wants to play with his childhood friends ATH D.Sanders and LB R.Favors. If Texas would have offered Favors and White I think they would have committed already. OU has offered Favors and it's probably going to be real hard to seperate those guys. I don't think OU will offer Sanders so OSU might sneak in and get all three.

Precisely true. White/Favors is the most important combo. Zero state is the main competition that we see.

re: darius white

UT isn't level with everyone. He likes OU and UT won't offer Favors.

OU's not likely to play him early either.

White will go to Oklahoma or Alabama, LSU is distant third. I think he goes to Alabama. Strong relations between Alabama asst Bo Davis, former asst coach at North Shore, and head coach at North Shore, Coach Aymond. Too many receivers at LSU.

DeAndrew won't end up at OU. I don't know that we are even talking to him much. We've got our eggs in the McCay, Lucas, White, Cobbs, and Prater baskets.

IMO, he's good. Athletic.
