Jordy had a guy on OTB this morning that works for 247 and he said LSU is still the team to beat for Surtain Jr. Just thought I’d share that.

To be fair, he only said that he feels this way because he hasn’t heard any different from Surtain.

I’m a little worried tbh. He seems to like Bama a hell of a lot. Seems like a 60/40 situation with LSU leading at the moment. If it ended today, I’d say we get him, but the staff is gonna be sweating this one out for the next week.

I understand they are selling championships.

We can still see the NFL.

Do you want to win a ring in college football or a pro bowler in the NFL? Becuase we have done both better than anyone.

They had 4 Pro Bowlers this year and 5 or 6 last year. We need to make the argument about his ties to Louisiana, how much LSU needs him and what a difference he can make here. Trying to pitch championships, 1st round draft, or pro bowls seems to me like it plays just as much to Bama as it does us. We need to sell things they can't offer. That's hopefully what Coach O and Raymond are doing.

Gotcha

I don’t know if that’ll actually be the case (nickel) but he is listed. I feel it’s similar to Todd Harris last year, a place to put him in offseason talks but he’ll see the field at safety if he can make some noise. We’ll see
