This is yet another reason why Raymond needs to be retained and they need to be grooming him alongside Aranda and the other defensive assistants to better learn all aspects and nuances of solid defense. It's probably not possible but we need Raymond for his entire career. Hopefully we can keep him around for a long time.

How hard did LSU recruit his dad? Was he a late bloomer?

Found his quote
quote:

Surtain chose Southern Miss because the coaching staff assured him he’d have a chance to play quarterback. That was the reason he overlooked in-state power LSU, which wanted to put the elite athlete in the secondary. “LSU, ironically, wanted me to play defensive back,” Surtain smiled as he leaned back at his desk. “I wanted to play quarterback. When I got to Southern Miss, on the second day of practice, they moved me to defensive back, so lucky me! It worked out well, though, so I can’t complain.”

Yea, they do that a lot. Probably the only attention they get in life is when they do something negative. I just ignore that crap.

He is not leaving LSU. He will be elevated here eventually and is LSU through and through. He has been well taken care of and will continue to be.
