good stuff from spiegs

quote:

“Nothing is official yet, but I know why LSU is on the top,” Surtain Sr. told SEC Country. “He’s been liking that school for a long time now. Not that other teams aren’t in the mix, but right now, LSU is in the lead.

“The success that Corey has had with his defensive backs, they put a bunch of guys in the NFL and that’s his ultimate goal. When we went down for LSU-Alabama [in November 2016], the environment was second to none. There’s nothing like it. He liked that environment. It’s big-time college football. … It’s about the right fit and about him being comfortable. You can go to the league from any school, but he needs the right relationship with the coaches and getting a feel with the academic side.”

Everyone still feel confident if Deion somehow takes the FSU job?

I would still be confident. Deion doesn't have experience coaching at the college level. He has HS experience, but its not the same. Also, would Deion want to be a fulltime coach? Would he want to go out on the road and recruit? In College Football, there are not many days off. As a parent of a recruit, I would think about those things.

How hard did LSU recruit his dad? Was he a late bloomer?

Sounds like a slam dunk. P.S. Is Deion going to coach tackling technique???

Raymond is the coach that is underpaid.

We are so faaaked the day he leaves. Whether it Be for an nfl spot or some program offers him a DC job it’s coming and it will be a sad day. I’ve always hoped that maybe Raymond can learn arandas scheme and eventually slide into that role when Aranda leaves. It would be seamless imo and recruiting wouldn’t take much of a hit

He played qb in hs. I think he flew under the radar. He was a monster though.

Mike Tyson would not be a good trainer in boxing.

Surtain specifically pointed out Raymond's track record of coaching. Deion has no track record of coaching, other than in the Under Armour game

Im not sure that Deion going to FSU would have an impact at all. I mean he talks about the # of people Raymond has put into the league as a big factor. How many has Deion put into the league? What coaching experience does Deion have?

To me I don't think that's a bad idea.

Sr. Played QB for Karr mainly because he was the best athlete on the field. I remember playing against him in H.S. and we probably wouldn't have pulled his flag on some plays.

I remember when the Dolphins had Patrick Surtain and Sam Madison as their starting CB's. They were a real strength of their defense. Their excellent coverage skills enabled the safeties to cheat and play the run a lot of the time.
