Recruits of RR's caliber have more power in the recruiting game than guys like Sentimore or Lacy to bend programs to their needs. Not many recruits are on the level of RR though so it's not a normal situation.

Why are people upset with Emmitt for doing this when this happens all the time by programs strongarming kids to make rash, quick decisions or the program will "move on"?

I would have thought it would be because Randle probably would have went to alabama

I think OU stood to benefit most from this situation, not Bama. As it stands, Auburn and LSU picked up better receivers than anyone on Bama's commit list this year.

I do like Norwood though.

I'm just saying, if Miles tells him to go F himself and Randle goes to Bama (I still think OU was likely #2 but stay with me for the example) then the Bama fanbase would just act like Saban stole the best player and that Miles is going to implode, etc. Nobody would be talking about how he is respected. Where are you living dude?

You're exactly right. I'm not arguing with you. It's just uncool how it all went down.

Prom, would have loved to get Randle, but that's not what this was about with me personally.

But you're creating a lose/lose situation for Miles.

Either he's respected and loses the top guy to Bama in the state and everyone acts like he sucks.

or

He's not respected because of the Benton stuff and we get the best recruit out of LA in quite some time.

I sure hope Rueben never feels the need to transfer. I don't think Miles would be to accomidating after being pressed to make that kind of decision.

Understand that I'm flaming Mr. Randle, not anyone else, including Reuben. Emmitt had no business in the world being able to influence somebody else's college career.

If you listen to the audio, Mr, Randle admits that Bentons true choice of School was AU this year, for quick playing time...(he is 2years behind)

I was correct in my clues and putting 2 and 2 together. Benton was going to sign with LSU for the sake of commitment to the commitment, LSU hung by him..he was feeling guilty about switching...

IN the end RR was coming to LSU regardless of Benton (listen carefully)..Miles pulled the scholly on Benton, giving Benton what he wanted and making the Randle family feel good on all corners..and avoiding any last minute change of heart

It makes sense to me...LSU didn't want to give up Benton, but Benton isn't interested in school..

Once you get that, it makes sense why he choose AU!
